Here's a theory for ya. ChELL -REDACTED- (VANCE)... daughter of Eli and Azian vance from Black Mesa, supposedly Black Mesa spies that took Aperture's work, the origins of the infamous Gravity Gun?  
Maybe Chell was the result of an affair between people from the two companies? I just wonder...
