Description Thank you so much!!!

There have been so many kind messages from a lot of you, so it gave me the guts to finish this one today! I never thought it would be finished this quickly!

I started it a month or two ago I think and then left it behind because I somehow wasn't able to challenge myself for some reason. And I wanted it to turn out well!
Full time spent: approx 20 hours.

What you see is some sort of japanese horoscope you can buy at a shrine. In the metal box, there are wooden sticks and you have to pull one out of the hole. There is a number on it and you have to look for the number on the drawers. Inside there is some paper with your horoscope on it ^^

And right now it did~~
It's the best I drew in my experimental phase!

So I want to thank all of you for your kind comments, messages and support! Feel hugged!

I can see that you draw inspiration from makoto shinkai. the lighting really resembles his work. keep it up. he is one of my favourite animators but I mostly love his work for his amazing lighting too

Thanks a lot for your encouragement! It's not always easy to find matching lighting and motives but I'm glad this one turned out so nicely. I try to do more of this, trying to include characters as well. THough this is tougher than I thought...

Me too! I absolutely love his work, not only for the stories but for the lighting and atmosphere too. His movies are really made with passion. I absolutely see him as an ideal of mine.

hehe me too. I see his work and I am instantly inspired. I can watch any of his films or read his art book and just be filled with such motivation. He is the reason I want to learn CG painting now. I wanted to learn before but it wasn't a big thing, but now I will dedicate a lot of time to learning it.

Yes, exactly. I often watch "she and her cat" for getting new motivation. It's such an easy thing but touches me somehow. He's the reason for me trying to draw like he does too. I want to make people feel things when they look at my pictures, just like him. If there would ever be a workshop and I'd be able to go I would without hesitation.

Me too. If I am ever in Japan I will definitely love to go visit his work place to see how things are done. Also it would be amazing to work for him even if its for 1 day.

I still haven't left Australia yet. Been living here for 25 yrs but still have never left home. It will fun to finally get the chance to leave.

but working for him or any studio in japan would be an amazing achievement. I would also like to work in south korea, france and canada. they also have amazing animation studios

Yes, give it a try as soon as you can ^^ /

Yep, you're perfectly right! Though I for my part am not confident of my skills enough to apply there I fear.

Me too I don't feel confident enough to apply but I will just apply anyway. I will work on my portfolio first put things together that I am happy with and then apply. I think trying is better then not trying at all.

I wondered why you submitted photo... then I looked closer.
This is a near perfect imitation of Shinkai's style.

XD

Na und? Die Fotos sind auch von dir. Ich mache auch nichts anderes als aus meiner Erinnerung im Kopf zu zeichnen. Gedechtnis-Hilfe hin oder her. Am Ende zΓ€hlen die Skills am Stift und Papier und das Ergebnis.
Ich hab frΓΌher ja Basketball gespielt. Da gibts ein tolles Sprichwort: " Wer trifft hat recht" XD
