Hi there thanks for the critique - the reason for the straight on face is to communicate directly with the viewer - the frozen shards of glass represent a moment in time frozen and the lines in general aim to take the viewer to the same place as the subject. The piece is about escapism about a state of mind and a glimpse that allow the viewer and subject to share this moment. The glass represents the barrier we pass through to achieve this. Like all pieces I make this piece is created in ink and tea - thank you so much for taking the time to write a critique - much appreciated.

really lovely! the piece is nearly perfect! there is a great flow and balance to it; however id say its a little too much bead space above her head considering its quite heavy on the bottom. But that's just me being very nit-picky! I love how her features aren't completely perfect, how the color bleeds without it looking messy or like a mistake. The colors are also great, picking two complimentary colors and grounding them with the pops of maroon was very smart and shows that you really thought this out! ;] As for the concept its nice and subtle, it doesn't scream out at you or demand attention. The glass shards seem to be cutting into her and producing blood, however her expression is detached and unaware...beautiful!

I really love how the realism of the picture progresses towards the center while the outskirts are left wild, splashy and intensly chaotic but stil bearing a hint of concept taking specific form. Thank you. This drawing really brightened my day
