Description This is the first in the KeyRingOuts series, which is a line of keyring designs featuring fighting games characters. First up, it's Abel , the French mixed martial artist from Street Fighter IV.

At some point i'd like to model actual keyrings based on these designs, but at the moment they remain at the concept stage. However, if you're a modeller or sculptor, and would like to use the designs, please feel free.

I'm still registered, but i don't play online anymore (whether it be GGPO or Kaillera). To be honest man, i've had enough of all the fucktards on there who spoil the game with their cheap shenanigans and trash-talking. These days i put more effort into enjoying the games themselves, as opposed to the competition factor.

you could just play me only for a few nights, but hey if you dont like online anymore that fair enough

and yeh i agree, most of them are a bunch of retards and fuckfaces for knowing the games too much, but its alright for experience purposes.

reason why i play online is to gain exp and have good/funney matchs, and play fair if thats possible...(heh).

I'd like to have a game wid you someday brov

Well, being knowledgeable of the games is fine with me; it shows dedication to the game, which i have respect for. However, i find that so many people pick the same characters and play the same way - i particularly notice it in online Third Strike. You can tell who wants to win, by them going for Ken and SA3. That's okay in tournaments where the idea is to beat the opponent, but the average casual game is hardly Tougeki material!

Good for you, man. It sounds like you play honourably, and for decent reasons - i respect you for respecting the games.

That'd be nice! Perhaps one day we'll meet at a Neo Empire gathering or something.

what i meant by pplz knowing the game too much is the hours they spend on playing 3S and during that time they all know the good combos to each character and the parries etc -_-. And i only played this game like a year ago i think T_T, but im aight @ the game but im not amazing like EVO standard amazing, im just good enough to play a decent match lol

I'm sure there'll be a point at which we can meet up for some games, man. May i ask where you're at, please? It might be that i can come to you for a session - that way we can play the games you're best at and i can get a true feel of your skill.

I've been playing since the Dreamcast days, my friend - and i'm still not good enough for EVO! Besides, if we're both at a similar level, then i think the games will be more evenly matched, which is a positive thing.

Ah, Leeds! I was guessing you were in London, to be honest - a lot of fighting games fans i've met are based in or around the capital city. As for me, i'm about five miles out of Cambridge, but i commute often, and i'm intending to start college there soon (as i mentioned in my journal).

Sounds fabulous. I'm really looking forward to being in a class of videogames players, who are all looking to get into the industry; i imagine there'll be some excellent conversations over the two years that i'm on the course.

As for living down south, it doesn't have to stop us meeting at some point! I'm going to be on this course for a while, so i don't think we'll meet up in the near future, but i'm sure there'll be breaks in the term at various points, so perhaps we could work on arranging something for then.

Whichever is easier for you, man. To be honest, i don't really log in to MSN a lot these days, so perhaps it'd be better if we continued to use DA - but either way is okay with me.

Mmm... Soul Calibur or King of Fighters girls.
They would make killer cute keychains.

cardgamerdebu In reply to hyphenatedsuperhero [2008-08-28 12:15:26 +0000 UTC]

Well said, sir! I got back into Soul Calibur recently, and i particularly like Sophitia and Taki, so one of them (or both!) might make it into the series at some point.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hyphenatedsuperhero In reply to cardgamerdebu [2008-08-28 14:17:46 +0000 UTC]

All right...!!
You know, the problem with this is that there are so many fighting series with memorable characters that it's damned hard to pick just a few ones... How about setting a maximum number of possible keychains to narrow down the candidates?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

cardgamerdebu In reply to hyphenatedsuperhero [2008-08-28 20:03:33 +0000 UTC]

Now there is an idea. I was thinking about having a certain number of characters in a 'round' (perhaps five), and then there could be a break to really consider which five characters deserve to go next. At the moment i'm thinking that i want El Fuerte and Sophitia in this round, so there's two more spaces - i'm not in any rush to work on them though.

How about Tizoc/Griffon? In my opinion he's the best videogame luchador ever. Although I think he would be hard to adapt to this style...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

cardgamerdebu In reply to hyphenatedsuperhero [2008-08-30 20:14:11 +0000 UTC]

Wow, best videogame luchador ever, eh? A worthy title indeed, sir. And, while we're on the subject of Garou, i think i'd like to see either Hokuto-maru or Knushnood Butt in the collection somewhere, as well - they're both great characters. As for how Griffon would look in this style, i think it can be pulled off. It's not a big problem, though - if i totally ruin the character design with some crappy artwork, i don't have to upload it.

Ooooh, Butt!
Another outstanding character in a game full of them. Yeah, he would be an interesting addition to the keychain roster.
