Meet Ink! A creature I accidentally designed because someone asked me to demonstrate painting black fur, and I couldn't stop painting until the portrait happened. I was so enamored with the design that I decided to add a full body version

Reminds me of a more benign version of Dharziβs hounds in Michael Moorcockβs books. And great job un black: It always was a pain in the ass to me using black... But using white was even worse!

It's like reverse shading. I usually just paint bucket black then paint the highlights with a slightly lighter color. Maybe the artist can give you a few words on their process if you note them. Worth a shot.

first i thought this was a photoshopped creature from the tiny image of this on the front page, then i realised it was a painting. well done - i love how it looks like a baby crow [sorry its the blue eyes and the shorter beak - is it? sorry if it's not] and a mixture of dog, cat, omygodthiscreatureissodetailediloveit!

wow wow wowwwww this is such a gorgeous character!!!!!! <3 Isn't it funny how sometimes you go to do something simple and next thing you know a character pours out of your hand? XD That happened with my newest character Ateki the winged spotted genet. Was supposed to just be a doodle....whole ref sheet lattterrrrβ¦.
