So this was an interesting experiment

I was wanting to try out digital painting again but different
from the other methods I've previously explored.
When Painting my most common go to method is to keep the lines and my usual
masking and instead of shading with cell shading I'd use the soft round brush in
photoshop to lay down shadows and then using the alt-click eye dropper thing I'd
work on blending.
Here are a few examples of me doing that:

I actually haven't painted like that in some time funnily enough,
I've no reason why.

Another method of painting I've tried before is my lineless method. I still mask the
colours how I usually would but I don't even bother with lineart. Its a bit more of
a challenge but I still enjoy it. The blending method is the same as with my other
process. Alt-click eye dropper and all that

This time what I did was I painted it all in greyscale on one layer. That was
interesting because I haven't painted anything in greyscale digitally
in ages! In fact I can't even remember when I last did. Also I did it all with
a chalk brush in photoshop, which i'm not used to.
Then I added my masks and colours behind the lines and lastly, and prepare
to be amazed, I did a slight overpainting layer! I've never done an overpainting
layer before, I always lose patience with it honestly. And thats exactly
what happened here. The OP layer has very little on it. Someone more used
to this method would have probably taken it a lot farther with the OP layer,
but alas, my patience doesn't extend that far with it haha.

I'm still really happy and proud of this painting. It was something new and
fun and I might sketch more like this, just the grey scale with the chalk brush.
I'm 100% going to be using the chalk brush more in the future.
