Description A plush-crested jay (Cyanocorax chrysops) at the Tracy Aviary in Salt Lake City, Utah.

These guys brought the total number of corvid species I have seen in person to 14. Four of those I have for certain only seen in captivity, but hopefully I'll get around to seeing them in the wild in the future. That leaves me with slightly more then 100 species yet to see. So I guess I am keeping a "life list", it's just somewhat more limited then most birder's.

Whoa, I have never seen that species before. Very cool-looking corvid. I have a similar sort of "life list," but it's for vultures (mainly) and other accipitriformes.

They're a native of South America, and there seem to be a few facilities in the USA that have them. The picture really doesn't do the coloring justice, as I was shooting through a ~1" mesh fence and some clouds had reduced the light.

I do have a list like that one, but it's less conscious then the corvid one. Mostly just a check if something is a new species to me when I see it.
