Description This has actually been on my front page for a little while but I'm only just now putting it in my gallery. This style was interesting. Took a few tries. I couldn't decide if he looked a little bit too fat here or whether it worked with how he looks normally and the style change. xD Does this even count as chibi? What is this??? I don't often chibi and the proportions-changing is the hardest part of it haha.

Neat colours
I like the warm on the one side and the cold on the other.
Also so adorable ovo a little chubby is always great with chibis, i think X)

Thanks! Sometimes I worry about overusing this type of color scheme, but I enjoy it haha! And it seems like the most natural choice a lot of the time :>

He does look a bit short, kind of like an adolescent pup? But either way, I like this doodle!

Oh, and I have a (probably stupid and repetitive) question - so anthro!Rook and quadrupedal!Rook have two different storylines or are somehow connected in one story or one of them has a story and the other is more like a mascot or what?

Yeah chibifying calls for some weird proportional things and it's always hard to work out. xD I -think- this is around what I want to shoot for if I do some more though. Thanks! : D

That's a good question actually! Anthro!Rook is the technically correct one, and the quadruped one is technically non-canon and doesn't have a particular story. But I keep drawing it because it's fun, and easier. xD Plus I like his pelt design but in canon/anthro he's very adamant about wearing clothes haha. That's kind of the case for all my current wolf characters actually (though the rest of them are bipedal fantasy creatures more-so than anthros?).

It looks like the kind of style where it would be really quick and sketchy (but only after you practice it). Β  Love to see what you come up with. Β Also I'm looking forward to seeing more Rook. Β XD

Haha maybe I'll get there It's always an experiment to see which elements to exaggerate and how much to simplify. And that's good to hear! 8D I'll definitely have to throw in at least one of him if I do some more of these~
