Going through a Genocide Run this part is defitnly the hardest part to deal with I felt so bad for having to do such a vile thing Toriel was like another Β Mother to me and it pained me to even do it. I tear up really bad just thinking about it

This part pissed me off.. I tried Act->Talk, Mercy->Spare, and Mercy->Flee several times but nothing f*cking worked, so I thought "oh, maybe its like in EVERY OTHER GAME EVER where you fight until you both have low health and they give up on their own!". Next thing I knew, I accidentally got a critical hit and f*cking killed goatmom T-T
I intended on playing the game without any guides or Youtube vids, but BECAUSE TOBYFOX IS AN *SSHOLE, and I <3 goatmom, I had to look up a guide to find out 'oh! you just have to keep doing X even though it doesn't seem like it's doing anything until 10 turns later'.
Thankfully, now that I KNOW the dev plays these d*mn games, I can keep dying whenever I get to a boss until I figure out how to Spare them and move on without killing anyone.

Same happened to me, but I was just going with that advice from that one stupid frog. I was just trying to prove to her that I was strong enough to protect myself, I didn't mean to critical hit her!Β
...and then that asshole flower comes to rub it in.Β
Also, with the spare, if you do it twice in a row, you'll see that it does something different each time, but of course, if you never spare twice in a row you'll never notice it's having any effect, so won't do it.

After I accidentally murdered her, I went back in time (game gets an epic merit for that feature) and accidentally stumbled upon a way to save her. After saving her life, the flower left a message with me that chilled my blood, horribly.
