Once in Mirkwood a koala cub appeared by Yavanna's grace. Thranduil would not entrust it to anyone and raised it himself, carrying it around on his leg and feeding it with eucalyptus.-----

Did you know that eucalyptus leaves have hallucinogenic properties? Koalas are actually known to fall out of trees because they eat too much, get high and loose their grip on the branches
I happen to think this is where the "Drop Bear" comes from.
