I think Ed is a little bit of a run-on gag of the sailing options from Assassin's Creed III. Personally, I think they should have made it much more like what they did for the Russian, and had it as a comic, or Mini-Game that you could buy online. NOT a fuckin' stand alone game! Ubisoft has really destroyed what the main goal they set for with the first game, and, just by watching my brother play it I constantly had to tell myself that this is infact an Assassins Creed game. Love your colors and concept.

Ouch! Have to say; Grandpa Kenway looks like he's going to be more awesome than Haytham and Connor put together. He's like a mix of Ezio's badass charm with Connor's skill set.

I don't hate Connor, but I didn't like the setting that was picked for by Ubisoft for AC III. It didn't made much sense to me, when I went through such a colourful period as the renaissance to end up in a dark place where everything was known and confusions still plague the use of the name: America. If America was really playable in AC III, it would've been the biggest game ever made.
I liked more the idea of AC IV, since it happens in the Caribbean during the colonization period and the times of pirates; it keeps more parity with the time in respect of AC II, since it happens right after the renaissance.
In little words, I think it was too early to bring the story there (AC III), when the French Revolution happened right before, and offered much more events to study and represent.

Personally I loved the setting of the American Revolution, it was something that always fascinated me But this is probably just because I actually know a lot of American history and the people in it and so I was able to appreciate the game and the events more. And we also did get to transition through Constantinople, where it wasn't as colorful and bubbly as the Renaissance, so that transition was pretty easy, but I think Ubisoft was trying to avoid such prospering and colorful times, since they just passed a whole trilogy that revolved around Italy and the the Renaissance (except for Revelations), and I think especially since they were also transitioning to a new assassin.
But it definitely was a big jump to go from the Renaissance to the American Revolution, I expected something before it, like the French Revolution and Napoleon, because it's weird that AC4 is now going BACK in time. I liked the games going in chronological order, progressing with history. The Caribbean seems like an awesome setting though, especially now that they can incorporate more naval battles (which I thought was one of the coolest things ever )... and pirates, you can never go wrong with pirates.
Now I'm also kind of curious about the French Revolution and how to incorporate all the conspiracy theories... like would Robespierre be the grand daddy Templar? It'd be really cool. Ubisoft should look into that. I don't see why not since they're going back in time now. I'm just worried how the main story is going to progress since Desmond is dead, the apocalypse has passed and now we're jumping back to an older ancestor.

*spoiler alert*
Maybe Desmond's memory is in the apple still or they go through William Miles? Either way, I want my bartender back D:

I would have adored an AC set in the French Revolution.
