So this is a contest entry for s create your own freär acrie contest.

What is a freär? just follow the [link] ;3

The skull is probably not accurate in the least, but it was fun to do trying to mix a cobra a deer and a cheetah (it will be taken down if ~Denychie disapproves of it).

Freärs have a type of paws which I’ve never drawn before, and I have problems with normal ones -_- so yeah, they don’t look very fabulous.

His name is pronounced: Ma-el (like how they say supermans real name Ka-el) Ly-eja

Archetype according to ~Sheeply s character creation guide [link] :Moralistic dominant.
Personality and behaviour: Mael’s got a very though façade that is very hard to break through. To the outside world he looks cold and ruthless; being capable of performing almost anything with no restraints (such as murdering children, friends and family members) he is often thought of as a monster, he himself agrees with them on that point.
He’s usually in charge of things, but only steps into the leader role if he deems no one else capable of it, he prefers being second in command to first.
Mael’s a competent commander, doing what is necessary without letting his personal emotions interfere. His strength on the battlefield lies not in strategy but in tactics (which means he’s not fantastic at planning but rather at adapting to the changes of the battlefield).

His attitude has been described as: laidback you can kiss my ass.
Maels voice is cold and sharp leaving no room for disobedience, he only raises it when agitated.

So, how’s his mushy insides beneath the façade? So far only three freärs have had access to that, his wife, daughter and an old childhood friend of his (which has a laughably easy time fooling him since he believes every word he says).
he’s a very caring person valuing the lives of others around him far more than his own.
He’s rather lazy, when all duties are done he prefers to just take it slow.
Mael hates killing and will only do it when absolutely necessary.
He’s fiercely loyal to the people that has earned his trust, however if this trust is broken he’ll become extremely vengeful.
He’s socially inept and has a hard time dealing with new situations such as caring for young kids (his daughter is currently a newborn babe), you can’t terrorise them into behaving and they mostly lack the concept of fear. Thus his usual methods fail.
He’s completely unable of “taking another being by force” and if he sees such a crime being committed he’ll usually react very violently.

When you are alone with him he’s usually more kind then if you met him in a crowd (three’s a crowd).
If there is a problem he will try to solve it.
He has a personal code of honour that he follows by the letter, he also follows the acrie law to the best of his abilities.
When faced with a problem he will try to solve it with logic and reasoning (he looks down on people that act without thinking and that are driven by their emotions).

He usually has the best of self restraints on himself, but all this crashes if he becomes bored. When Mael becomes such he becomes a very mischievous freär, seeking to bother and toy with the people around him. If he’s alone when this hits he usually finds some way of amusing himself like throwing “darts” with objects around him, but he quickly becomes restless and seeks out people to annoy.

When his pain threshold is met his emotions often comes out in an uncontrollable rush, leaving him completely drained when it’s done.

Strengths: agile, adaptable, intelligent, competent leader, able to distance himself from emotions, obedient, good at reading peoples emotions and notice when they are lying, ambitious, selfless.

Weaknesses: New social situations, knows a lot about a few things and thus lacks broad knowledge, too distant from his own emotions, far too obedient, one of these days he will have a mental breakdown, lacks empathy, demanding, controlling, far too cold and thus scares of most people leaving him with very few friends (which he desperately needs)., aggressive, got a short fuse, lazy.

Background: he has witnessed firsthand the cruelty of the Louia and thus bears a deep seated hatred for them. Mael was 69 years (a young teenager equivalent to a human being 12-13 years old) when the four year war started between the Acrie and the Louia Started.
During this he saw a lot of death most notably the death of his grandparents, he had always had a better relationship to his grandparents than his demanding mother and weak father.
Their deaths cut him deeply and left him emotionally crippled for a long time.

After the war ended he started to slip away from his old friend. He also left his parents as quickly as possible to live on his own.

Wanting to be able to protect his pack from further attacks from the Louia he became a warrior. But the life of a killer never suited him and when he deemed himself skilful enough he quit it to instead begin a career of teaching, forming the next generation of combatants.

It was during this time that he met his wife; a fellow teacher specialized in the working of the mind. It certainly wasn’t love at first sight, but they grew to like and eventually love each other.
They had actually vowed to never get a child together, but mistakes do happen. This does not mean that he loves his young daughter any less though.

At the present he shares the royal family’s fear of the Louia rising up for another strike at them again and hopes that the young Shijoula is prepared to use her powers to help defend them from the enemy.
Even if that is not the case he’s prepared to once again lend his services to his country not as a teacher but as a warrior.
