Description The sky was amazing this night. Not even close to portrait the fabulous night here. But this is as close I could get. To get more out of the shot without having to crop stuff away due to vignetting and distortions I again made a vertical panorama shot (5shots [][][][][]). Minimal processing other then the merge, just did some enhancing on the foreground, man I need to buy my self one of those NDgrad filters from Lee...

Hope that you can Imagen how beautiful it was. It was just me here, its lying a bit of this place and the terrain is quite hard to go through to get to it so I guess that there aren't many people there at all.

Edit: Question?
Have a question for those who have had the Sigma 10-20 and have tried the 10-22mm from Canon. I'm not really satisfied with the sharpness in the distance when shooting at say f/7 to f/11, just feels like Im not getting the same sharpness as the Sigma(have not tried both with the same setting just a gut feel here) Maybe its just me who's not fully understanding my new gear, but I do have the same settings on my new camera as I had on the 400D. Guess I will try it a lot more before I do something about it. Get it checked out or something

Very good work.
As far as I know the optimal apertures for sharpness on the Canon 10-22 are f8 & f5.6. I do find there is a big difference in sharpness between f8 and f11.
In situations like this I use a focus point slightly further away than the nearest object of interest, in this case perhaps the round stone beyond the rock in front. That usually results in sharp foreground to background shots. Hope this makes any sense to you.

Hmm haven't read anywhere that there would be a sharpness dip from f8 to f11. Take most of my landscape shots using f11. What disturbed me on this pic was not the foreground which is as sharp as the Sigma were. Its the sharpness on the tree line in the horizon I found less sharp then my previous lens. Have to try f8 and see if I can see any differences. Thanks for the input mate.
