Description The curious girl decided she wanted to sniff my camera. She's a common brushtail possum from Melbourne, Australia. They look much more rodent-like this close up.

I'm surprised she didn't take your finger off nasty creatures especially when cornered

Nasty is nothing but a human trait. Animals don't know nasty, all they know is self-preservation. As for possums, I work closely with them through my scientific research and have found them to be nothing but pleasant. By not putting her in a position where she feels threatened, I have no reason to fret for my fingers.

I have also been to the point of having wild red Brushtails sitting on my shoulders & eating from my fingers but being wild they can turn at any minutes notice after a fright from a noise & takea chunk out of you--that has also happened

Indeed. Though personally, I would not call that nasty.

ok I agree but I will say that as most things once cornered or injured they can look cute but can turn quickly even from babies
