Description
It was all dark around him. The only light, a torch whose flame flickered excited now and then when a cool blow of wind made her dance. Deathly silence surrounded him, while his echoing steps and the trickle of drops from the ceiling on the wet ground beneath were the only sounds to be heard. Even the wind in here did not make a sound. He now could understand why people normally had been avoiding this place. Something in here made you feel uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable. And it was not the dark. It was something else that was giving you chills. But it was his decision to come here. There was no place for fear. And so he went on.
Red knew it would be dangerous to enter Cerulean Cave, but he wanted to catch the legendary Pokemon, which was said to live here. There were 150 Pokemon in this world, Professor Oak had told him once a few years ago, when he started his journey through Kanto. It was back then, that he received his very first Pokemon. There were three of them, one to choose. A grass type, a water type and a fire type Pokemon. He had gone for the fire Pokemon, Charmander. Years later and with a lot of training and patience, the little red lizard had evolved into a strong Charizard. He had encountered many many Pokemon, even legendary ones. And he caught them all. 149 Pokemon Red called his own and now there was only one to go for. Mewtwo. He did not know how this Pokemon looked like. He only had found a few hints concerning his appearance in an old burnt laboratory on Cinnabar Island. A diary, which must have been belonged to a scientist told of a humanoid creature with feline features. Being not able to control the powers of this psychic Pokemon, it had destroyed the laboratory and fled.
Red did not care about the fact, that Mewtwo was a man made creation, it was still a Pokemon. And the last he needed to complete his Pokedex. So he searched for the mysterious and strongest creature.
He went further and deeper, squeezed himself through tiny gaps, climbed up moist rocks and jumped down in great puddles of water, splashing loud as he landed. The waves of the crystal clear water blurred his reflections, as he moved the torch closer to the puddle. He saw himself and grew sad and lonely. After a while -or had it been only seconds? - he shook his head and went on, the feelings of sadness and solitude instantly vanishing.
He wandered and sneaked, climbed and jumped, rested and went on again. For how long he did not know, but then he arrived in a bigger part of the cave, great like a hall. He stepped forward as he saw something glisten in front of him. He walked closer, knelt and discovered...water. And more water. He rose back to his feet and lifted his torch. There was water everywhere. A huge underground lake extended majestic in front of him. Seems that I have faced a dead end, Red thought. As he was about to turn back, finding another way, he saw a narrow stone footbridge leading in the middle of the lake, swallowed up by darkness. He walked closer, setting one foot cautiously on the footbridge, examining, if it could carry his weight. Carefully he placed his second foot and walked a few steps. It seemed save, but something made him feel strange, preventing him from moving on. Suddenly there was a noise. So unexpected that he flinched, letting the torch slip through his fingers. With a wooden ponk and a following shhhhhh, Red was engulfed in darkness, while his torch sank to the bottom of the lake. It was pitch dark, he could not even see his hand in front of his eyes.
No, he thought. He remained still, trying to concentrate on his environment. The noise had vanished as suddenly as it had appeared, his eyes still sealed in darkness. Was there even something? Or was he nowhere, damned to live the rest of his life in void. No, he was still standing. He knelt and groped the stony ground with his hands. He moved them to the edge of the footbridge and could feel cool water running through his fingers. Red sighed. Ok, no need to be afraid. I have still my Pokemon with me. If I manage to crawl back to the entrance of the lake's cave I can release Charizard.
He started carefully crawling on his fours, back where he stepped on the footbridge, his knees rubbing the fabrics off his jeans, as the walls began shimmering in a light blue. He stared in awe as he realized that all this tiny glowing spots on the wall had been gems. Like a night's sky, they shone like stars from the ceiling and all sides. Even if they were not as bright to light the entire cave, they still helped Red orientating himself. He rose to his feet and just watched the underground night sky. Then he turned, again looking along the stony path, which led into nowhere. He actually was able to look a bit further, but not enough to say what was at the end. He walked. He knew that this was stupid, because he did not know for how long the light in the cave would last, but somehow he was dragged into this direction.
Yes, come, a voice whispered in his head, not sure if he just imagined it.
The path ahead was long, seemed endless, but then it looked like the cave's floor got wider again. There, in the distance. There was something....someone. Could it be? Could it be really....Mewtwo? Red held his breath, bravely moving forward. The silhouette in the distance became clearer. A human like creature, curled up, was levitating a few steps over the ground, glowing mysteriously in a faint blue. Red was now certain, that this had to be Mewtwo. He walked closer, soon arriving on a platform surrounded by water and in the middle of it the Pokemon he was looking for. It was just a few steps away. But what now? He isn't moving. This can't be...this can't be this easy.
No, this is impossible.
The voice in his head again. This time not a faint whisper, but a clear male voice. A second later Mewtwo opened his eyes, uncurled himself, levitating lightly towards the ground. The glowing aura surrounding him, vanished in the moment he set foot on the floor of the stony island. Red gazed with his mouth open at the Pokemon which had been a head taller than himself.
Did you lost your tongue?, the voice asked.
It took a while until Red recognized that this was Mewtwo's voice.
A long time has passed since I have seen a human, Mewtwo said. Why did you come here? For a challenge, I suppose? He did not sound angry, but kept calm.
“I...I actually came here to challenge you. But not in a bad way, you know? I want to be your friend, Mewtwo.”
There had been other humans, who offered me their friendship before. But they betrayed me. They wanted to use my powers for their own benefits.
“That is sad. I still do not understand why some humans act like this. Pokemon are living creatures with feelings, too. I would not betray you, Mewtwo. I want to challenge you in a fair battle.”, Red said.
And if you win, you would throw one of these round things at me, which hold Pokemon captured. If this is what you call being friends, then spare me your so called 'friendship', hissed Mewtwo angrily, but still remaining calm. You would not have chance, anyway, human.
“My name is Red. And all of my Pokemon are my friends, even if they are not free. There is a connection between me and my Pokemon. I...I don't know how to explain, but I can feel it. And they can feel it, too”, Red tried to explain. Not only once he had been told that he got a special rapport to Pokemon. There had been Professor Oak and his granddaughter Sarah. And old Mr Fuji in Lavender Town, who runs the orphanage for abandoned Pokemon and many more.
Yes, I can feel this bonding, too. But I won't come with you. Even if you would defeat me.
“Ok, I guess, there is nothing to do about this. I will leave and say that I haven't found anything, if someone will ask”, Red said disappointed. But he did not want to force Mewtwo, either.
I am lonely and I could need a good friend, Mewtwo said smiling and a flash of blue light filled his eyes.
Red was forced to the ground, Mewtwo's face growing smaller, looking down on him, grinning. His feet grew bigger. The blue light surrounded Red and made him loose his eyesight for a few moments. After he was able to see again, he sat on the ground, looking up at Mewtwo. But his face seemed so far away. This was strange. It seemed that he had grown even taller. Dizzy from the light, it took a while until Red realized that Mewtwo had not grown, but he had shrunken! He was only a cubit long now.
“Hey, what was that for?”, Red said angrily. “This isn't funny!”
Mewtwo ignored Red, but lifted him up with one of his paws. Or were it hands? He could not say. He held Red firm, but also soft. Mewtwo was not intended to hurt his new friend. Red did not new why, but felt uncomfortable as Mewtwo licked his lips, as a pink tongue appeared. And the sudden growl of his stomach made him feel even uneasier. Before Red could demonstrate against his unfortunate situation, Mewtwo opened his mouth and pushed Red, head first, into his mouth. He became drained with hot saliva, as Mewtwo's stomach growled even louder. Red construed this a bad sign, and began struggling frantically.
Mewtwo pushed Red further into his mouth and soon the fleshy entrance to his tight throat opened. With anticipation he took his first gulp. Red was delicious. Mewtwo took another gulp and Red slid in deeper. A squirming bulge began to grow in Mewtwo's neck. He groaned lightly under the movements in his throat, hoping that Red would keep them up. Greedily Mewtwo took fast short gulps, making Red sliding in bit by bit with every swallow. Soon Mewtwo was able to slurp his feet in, shutting his mouth. The bulge in Mewtwo's neck had grown to a remarkable size, twitching and squirming still. Again Mewtwo's stomach let out a great growl, signalizing him to hurry. Mewtwo then lifted his head, outlining the bulge in his neck even better. With a tremendous, echoing gulp that reverberated from the walls of the cave, Red was pulled down with all the strength Mewtwo's throat muscles could afford. He groaned in pleasure as the trainer was dragged down and squeezed into Mewtwo's stomach.
Sealed in darkness, Red arrived in a hot gurgling sac. At least there was enough room to stand up, but that would not excuse what Mewtwo had done to him. Suddenly there was this blue light again, which surrounded his body and for a brief moment he could see the pink fleshy and riffled stomach walls of the Pokemon that had eaten him. Then it seemed to get tighter in here. Red guessed what would come next.
Mewtwo stroked the tiny bulge in his belly, and grinned as he felt it growing. First slowly, then faster and faster. He placed one paw on his extending belly, groaning under the stretching of it. The bulge grew bigger. Mewtwo groaned. And bigger. He shivered under the weight he gained. And bigger until Red had reached his former size. Mewtwo placed his other paw on his now huge swollen belly. Red began struggling hard, causing the bulge to move heavily. Mewtwo enjoyed every movement, every twitch and squirm. He sat down and let his huge wriggling stomach to bulge out between his legs, stroking it gently.
