Description
This was an assignment to take a word and illustrate elements associated with it into letter forms. This was all drawn in vector in Adobe Illustrator CS5.*EDIT* Thanks for the DD! And all the love :]

i was telling someone else that the nature of this project was to take a more illustrative approach, and because of that some of the letter forms don't necessarily hold up as letters on their own. the majority of people who have viewed it (on deviantart and elsewhere) have been able to read the word without much effort, but i can definitely see where some of it could definitely be strengthened.
in general, i tend to use a more limited palette in order to keep my colors harmonized - i'm glad you find that it's working. and i'm happy that the style resonates with you as well!

Shades, good... I loved the way of u do the cel shading... Vision: Good.... Originality 4.5, because of it's like the google doodles... sorry if u do works like doodles of google... i dont see u total art.

thanks for this! haha. your comments are so sweet, i really appreciate you taking time out to write them down! i don't usually do artwork related to typography, but i did used to have a job that required me to paint things into letter forms - i also have a pretty cartoon driven style, so that's probably why it resembles a google doodle. thanks again for all of your comments!

Browsing through the typography section on Deviantart, with a bunch of people basically just putting up typed quotes, and then finally come across some ACTUAL typography work. Beautiful.ย

Really well done, I like the freedom used to represent the letterforms, and the attention to detail! That aside, the colors also really work well together. That the T and R are not that readable are no issue, you never read all the letters anyway!
