The face is abominable.
It was well that the Gug guarding the tower back to Dreamland was distracted by having to fight the ghasts, thus enabling Carter to slip by and start up the stairs.

Well that these NIGHTMARES were banished into the abyss of nightmare. The tower in their city leads back to the realm of normal dream, BUT the sign of Koth prevents them from tramping up the stairs to return where they were banished.(I was at this mo startled by a noise from across the street. Just somebody calling to somebody...)

Well that is pretty neat but I must admit the mouth reminds me of a vagina but other then that this is pretty neat.

Ha ha! know what you mean..Lovecraft was pretty firm about the mouth being vertical.Guess the combination of loose folds of skin,an orifice and gravity,would pretty much mean that it can't help looking like a vagina.In fact,perhaps that is why a vagina looks the way it does?..
Interestingly,Lovecraft had only a short marriage but was a bachelor the rest of his life.One has suspiscions that the Gug may represent a fear of "Vagina Dentata"...

Well to be honest anything vertical with some type of layer and pink to it is going to remind some people of a vagina.

Really? I didn't know that. Oh man that reminds me of an artist's work I seen. He drew or created alot of female pieces but he was actually afraid of women. Damn I wish I could remember his name
