"Jeyne never saw him at all. The widow rode with downcast eyes, huddled beneath a hooded cloak. Underneath its heavy folds, her clothes were finely made, but torn. She ripped them herself, as a mark of mourning, Jaime realized. That could not have pleased her mother. He found himself wondering if Cersei would tear her gown if she should ever hear that he was dead."

No, you're right, this is an easy piece. No backgrounds, few layers.

I like that you used autumn colors, since Jaime had noticed snow at Riverrun. I'm so glad to see fanart of Jeyne Westerling. I hope nothing else dreadful happens to her. Jeyne's mother, Sybil, is drawn perfectly. Her frowning, pinched face is spot on.

Yes, it starts snowing over Riverrun a few days after Edmure and the Westerlings have left the castle. I imagine that winter could already be evident - less browns, more white-grey atmosphere - but this image popped in my mind like that. Thank you!

Good paper is important. I can`t remember what paper I use for watercolours... it`s been a while since I practiced them

It looks very nice to me...

I have some 7-8 different kind of watercolour paper at home, but I did this during Christmas holidays, when I was in my grandparents' house, and there I have only a couple of choices. The con of this paper (a Magliani something) is that it absorbes too much colour and you are then unable to take it away with the brush. Instead of remaining on the surface, the colour sinks in. Humpf.

Is Canson paper the right kind? I must check this out... I had a beautiful paper for Vasilia in the Forest I did last year...

There is no such thing as a "right" paper; it all depends on a) the effects you want; b) your personal feeling toward the paper; c) your preferences (more/less rough, etc). Every person has his own approach toward a certain kind of paper, and you could get different effects with different kinds. All depends on what you want to get with your watercolour.

I really like your choice of colours. There is no strong contrast, they seem to match everything. And these falling leaves give the picture a touch of good climate - it's autumn, everything passes, it suits the woman's sad face. Actually, it seems quite pessimistic, but I like it anyway.
