Just pumping out another piece for you guys! I recently bought myself the Faber Castell Polychromos 36 Set of Coloured Pencils and this is my first ever piece using them!
I have to say, I am in love with their vibrancy and blending (especially when you use something like baby oil with it).
Anyways... This is Prompto and a puppy from Final Fantasy XV! Done for the July Challenge of Game-Art-HQ Β
I am so excited for the game to come out in September. Been excited since the announcement of Versus XIII when I was like 12 OMG

Indeed- There's just something inherently endearing about them. Hit me as a double-whammy: From his general bio I expected Prompto to be a rascally trouble maker, perhaps a bit temperamental- instead, I got a doofy puppy all too willing to please. Now he seems twice as adorable as he would've been had I known what was coming. XD

This is beautifully made. The blending is wonderful! Amazing work!
Don't mind me asking but I'd like to ask how do you use baby oil during coloring? How did it make the blending of colors this nicely?

First of all, thank you so much for leaving a comment! (I seriously love comments, they're like cookies 
And to answer your question: Polychromos pencils are oil based so baby oil will work with it. Other wax-based pencils won't have the same effect.
I build up light layers with the pencil to how I want it and then using a small brush, dip it in the smallest amount of baby oil and brush it over the pencil to make it blend and become more vibrant. You have to be careful though because too much will bleed through the paper. Keep it mind, I don't put a lot of pressure on my colour pencils and just build layers up from lighter pressure. You still need a nice layer of pencil at the end to achieve anything with the baby oil, but you'll need to experiment to figure it out. (It probably would be easier if I made a tutorial but I don't think anyone would be interested!)
The oil also tends to make the work look lighter against the scanner light so I have a couple of extra sheets of blank white paper to back the artwork so that it scans all the colours without looking "see-through" because of the oil on the paper.

Me neither! But I also REALLY look forward to seeing more of Ignis! Watching the Brotherhood anime has hyped me up for it even more, and I know that his episode is next even though Prompto's episode has really warmed me up to him. I think this is the first FF game in a while that has warmed me up to all of the main characters, which is strange given that it's a predominately male cast. Especially Noctis. He went against my thoughts of how he'd be portrayed despite being a prince. At the same time, I'm one of those people that really doesn't mind it, because their personalities blend together so well.

I definitely cannot wait to see how all four of them work together, it seems like there is going to be so much bromance and I am so looking forward to it.
I am actually quite glad it is an all male group for the main characters. We have had all girls in X-2 so it'll be nice having just guys in the group and no girls to interfere with the bromance.
I have to agree with you on Noct - I am glad he isn't so moody compared to other mains such as Cloud, Lightning, Squall etc.
I am so ready for this game (after waiting 10 years oh-my-lord!).
