Description I didn't know what to call this XP;; excuse the lame title.
Also, please download for full-size because I KNOW dA will downsize this because it's got a long length.

I don't actually have much to say about this picture XD;; some of it I really like but a lot of it I think I failed at badly. I don't hate it though and I will continue to try and improve with my art. I hope you guys like it anyway

Gen is both the best and worst friend you could ever have.
There is a saying I know that goes:

"A good friend will bail you out of jail. a BEST friend will be sitting right next to you saying "Dude... we fucked up."

....That's Gen.

My art is always so geographically inaccurate but I don't really care

I'm too tired to say anything else.
I'll draw better next time

and thanks I don't really have a method for picking colours I just kinda know the kind of colours I want and then do the colour scheme test but I don't sample from anywhere or anything. Sorry

The clouds are amazing!! The mountains could probably have more subtlety in the shading, but overall it's a really cool pic!

Story wise, perfect! Totally in character and completely possible.
As for the art itself, it’s great. Good textures, nice vibrant colors, the only thing I’d play around with is the depth.
My oils teacher back in college liked to remind us that as things get father away, the colors become less vibrant because there is more atmosphere (meaning air, not ambiance) between you and what your looking at. She explained that the atmosphere sucks up light and thus our eyes register the colors lighter than they really are.
So if I were you I’d just fiddle around with lightening the valley in the background to see if it adds distance. I thought Usagi was slipping into a ditch at first then I realized it was a cliff and thought, β€œOh! That’s why they’re freaking out.” lol Yeah, cliff much scarier than a ditch.

XDD I tried to lighten the shadows but somehow it didn't go as planned I will have to work on that more next time.

I swear I have to do a piece where Gen and Usagi run into Ranma and Ryoga. Between Gen's shortcuts and Ryoga's crumby sense of direction it could happen.

XDD true!! However, I think the difference is Gen's shortcuts DO actuall work... he's just the only person who knows how to follow them... and you have to not mind being put in extreme danger if you wanna follow him

Oh Wow.
Personally, I love this. The colors are amazing and I love the shading and the painterly look of the landscape. There does however seem to be something slightly off with the mountains, maybe they could do with a little heavier shading? I'm not sure, but overall I'm not sure I see anything wrong here Great work

Gen and Usagi's faces are hilarious, and the background is EPIC. I those clouds.

In terms of Critique, er... the mountaintops seem too...soft? Not sure how else to put it. The characters stand out like they should, the clouds stand out the little valley stands out, but the mountain tops seems to blend together. But that's just a nitpick compared to the things I like about this picture.

XD I doubt mountains really look like this in Japan but then I don't have an Idea. Maybe they're in Hokkaido. Who knows?
