They should have kept that look for the series. Osaka has a load of problems, she should at least be given a break on her looks

Sakaki and Kagura were also a thousand times prettier.

Osaka is gorgeous in the VSM. It makes me very sad that they cannot redo the series with that drawing style. :/ Was likely due to budget reasons. She looks like such a kid in the series, even after graduation. It's part of her charm, I suppose, but I would have liked to see the series in that kind of quality.

Id probably like to see just an all new "relaunch" series with real stories, rather than stringing comic strips along.

Or a movie set ten years later where Yomi, growing dissatisfied with her life as an OL decides to take a motorbike tour of Japan, checking on all of her classmates. She takes an old acoustic guitar and plays clubs, having taken to the freedom of the road. (She still can't sing but has become an accomplished classical guitarist over the past decade)

- Sakaki has become a veternarian and has her own series on the Discovery Channel. She's engaged to a Steve Irwin like adventurer.

- Kaorin, realizing Sakaki would never return her affections has moved on in her life. she is a senator with a husband and three kids and as a courtesy to Sakaki supports animal rights causes. She slapped a restraining order on Kimura

- Tomo has become a stuntwoman, and is doubling for an actress playing Fujiko in a live action Lupin movie. She's still a raging dumbass and has a boyfriend whos practically a carbon copy of her

- Kagura is a world famous athlete and has a number of endorsement deals. Has won three gold medals for Japan in the Olympics

- Kimura is now principal of the high school and still a total perv. But his daughter is going to school there and keeps him in line for the most part. His wife is now Home Ec teacher and still oblivious to her husband's

- Nyamo has conquered her fear of commitment and married the guy who was mentioned in the series but never followed up on.

- Yukari is living in Los Angeles as a radio shock jock, the American she helped in the series is her boyfriend. She shows up via a videophone invented by Chiyo's company

- The shorthaired girl and one in pigtails are baristas at their own coffee shop.

- Chiyo (Still a runt) has inherited her father's computer / Internet technology buisness

- Osaka has been hired by Chiyo as her assistant. Later at Chiyos urging starts coming up with puzzles and riddles for a series of MYST like computer games which gain instant popularity, making her a celebrity in the gaming world. Her eccentric mannerisms making her a media darling and a "Gaming Goddess". She's also suprisingly good at Deathmatches

Thank you. I slightly amended Yomi's by having her near burnout as an OL when she wins the lottery, buys herself a house and a bike before setting out. She also displays her classic temper by finally swatting her boss.

- Chiyo is still a runt but is widely regarded as the cutest entrprenuer ever. Yotsuba is also under her employ as it was revealed in one of her manga that she used to play with Osaka at the park when she was five.

- Osaka nearly wanders in front of a bus shortly after graduation and Chiyo decides to hire her as an assistnt to keep an eye on her. She's revealed to have savant syndrome, possibly slightly autistic. But still a good person to be around. She helps Chiyo feel less stressed.

- Tomo has had EVERY bone in her body broken in the space of ten years.

- Kagura makes it a point to be a responsible role model and has made a number of public service announcements.
