This little guy sounds less like a corrupt/glitchy evil digimon and more like a child virus digimon(basically, a normal digimon). Β I really like his personality and I just want to hug him(an at the same time, secure my candy/eat it before he steals it).

I know, right? That was basically the point, he's totally harmless and more like Guilmon. (I.e, a virus type who's kinda strong and possibly creepy but also a sweetheart)
He sorta exists just to be the alternate viewpoint. Like, here's some evil glitchy villains, and a cute glitchy baby whose only crime is swiping candies, haha! (SECURE THE CANDIES IN THE CANDY VAULT BEFORE ITS TOO LATE)

*eaten all the candy already*Β
He also reminds me of puppet digimon a lot due to his stitched up appearance.Β

Yep, that's what I was going for! I always love the toy type digimon and it sucks that there aren't very many of them.

pretty much right, maybe you should try out some english based names? see how they roll. i dont get it with dubs sometimes, they change some names but keep other in their original japanese, i knows its understandable for names like ryu (street fighter) which means dragon or mugen (samurai shamploo) which is infinity. but when your dealing with a mass amount of names that arent on a personal level there needs to be a more understable naming system, even pokemon do a better job of that

Bunni89 In reply to AkromiusXHezekiah [2014-04-20 04:57:39 +0000 UTC]
Yup, exactly!
Pokemon would be incomprehensible if I had to remember that Fugishidane beats Zenigame or whatever. (I'm pretty damn sure I spelt those both wrong)
So I don't see why digimon can get away with having ginryuumon and modokibetamon etc etc >____________>
In japanese, those names are just ordinary puns and descriptions. Absolutely no magical sacred reason why they can't be changed to actually make sense in english, since the whole POINT is describing the monster...

Yeah >_> Its like.. they're annoying because they refuse to actually DUB things. Instead they just change things that don't need to be changed >_>
Can we just get an actual translation not changing the story??

yep main another reason i perfer fansubs over dvdsubs, cause people doing the translating know they are doing

Definately! Well, its more like fansubbers CARE about what they're doing. They care about accuracy. They're not just trying to make quick money with a shoddy product >_>

yeah and they choose which words to leave as japanese or to put in english. like bleach, they always be shinigami to me, not death gods or soul reapers. to me shinigami was just the best word for thier role
π: 0 β©: 1
Bunni89 In reply to AkromiusXHezekiah [2014-04-20 10:50:51 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. If a word's gonna remain in japanese its because the word is USEFUL and UNDERSTANDABLE and has a meaning that can't necessarily be delivered in english.
Personally I felt that soul reapers was okay in Bleach even if it doesn't sound as cool. It gets the gist across. But I don't like people who call the shinigami in Death Note soul reapers or whatever, cos they're pretty clearly death gods and not a guy in a hood with a scythe who collects the dead. They're all about CAUSING the dead, instead XD
Incidentally, I don't mind when people just literally translate it as "death gods". But it does lose a lot of pizazz cos it sounds generic. Like "he is a god of death" not "he is specifically a japanese magical creature named a god of death". I mean, you can call Anubis a god of death but he isn't a shinigami XD
Also, shinigami just sounds awesome. Its a word you wanna say over and over again! SHINIGAMI!!!

exactly and it just rolls of that tongue plus it has that genderless touch to it considering good dead deal of em are female though affix would -megami though they arent really gods or goddess'sΒ in first place that doesnt really matter but translated it does become gender specific pretty quick as usual

im the opposite, i have learnt multiple languages though they mostly forgotten from the lack of use. the only problem with language if you dont use it you lose it. use to know french, russian and latin pretty well and use to have a friend that was teaching me arabic. all i really remember now are few words and phrases

May I ask how hench is a pun? I've heard the word used but really have no idea what it means.
π: 0 β©: 1
Bunni89 In reply to Ira-Dracona [2014-04-18 09:14:31 +0000 UTC]
Oh, its a pun on the japanese name XD Hench is a pun, Henchmon is. (Henchman XD As in "my loyal henchman, Igor! Throw the switch!! IT IS ALIIIVE")
The japanese name just means "messenger/assistant", and its a dark digimon that hangs with demons. This delightfully coincidental name becomes the architypical word that villains call their assitants XD

I can confuse people when I talk. Right now I'm getting worked up about my pokemon. I have two Charmander who have the perfect natures for what I want to train them for, but they're not originally from my game! So I can't name them and do like naming my pokemon... So now I don't know if I should just not name any of my pokemon. I never name legendaries, after all.

Lol, pokemon is a children's game that hates children XD Some of those pokedex entries are freaky! Like Phantump, a stump with a child's soul inside or something XD
My OCD can't stand it, that's the problem XD
I saw this in someone's signature the other day and thought of you:Β I don't calculate stat values, nor do I care about natures. I just catch my Pokemon the way they are, and play the game normally.
I'd like to competition battle, at least with Paul, but I don't get overly hung up on it because I want to use pokemon I like whereas the metagame forces you into certain pokemon. However, you do need a team that works together, which at least gets me using pokemon I normally don't. I have a perfect IV Dratini and found a Black and White moveset which uses the Calm nature that it has, so I'm thinking of training her and a team to go with her. Sadly, it's for a Rain team which means I have to run Rain Dance. Politoed will be interesting to train, but all it's B/W sets (and probably all the X/Y sets once they're written) will use it's hidden ability of Drizzle. Not too bad if I know someone who has a water friend safari with Poliwhirl and I've been onlline at te same time as them, but Drizzle still only lasts for 5 turns now, so all that will be saved is one turn becasue I don't have to use Rain Dance and one moveslot.
A load of pokemon don't have movesets done for them because no one in their right mind would ever comp battle with them... But I'm gonna do it anyway! XD
I can feel able to give them characters without needing to name them My names always suck anyway >>

They are funny! XD
Yeah, these problems are stinkers when you just want to enjoy yourself.
I might make one team to put in the battle box, and train a few of my favourites, but there will probably be at least another generation of games by the time I even get partway through all the available pokemon XD
Everyone should be allowed to play the games as they choose In fact, whilst looking for trade partners for my missing pokemon I've seen so many ways to play. Gathering a living dex (one of every species, which is what I hope to achieve), breeding for perfect IVs or a specific combination (I was confused as to why someone would want a 0IV, usually in speed, because that's rubbish, but if you use Trick Room then the slowest pokemon moves first.
EV training is now more accessible if you put in the effort with the training minigames, so there should be tiers based on IVs and such, seeing as that's probably the defining thing. Perhaps that should call it 'competitive' and 'friendly'. Oh, new game mechanic, every non-breedable pokemon such as legendaries and babies are no guaranteed at least 3 perfect IVs, which is pretty cool, whilst all pokemon from friend safaris have at least 2
Yeah, I would rather have all my pokemon able to work separately so that I could switch between them as I wanted and put together teams. If I make a 'Rain' Dragonite then I need specific pokemon in specific roles to go with it. It's all based on what each pokemon does best stat-wise as a species, but if I need raining weather to improve the accuracy of my attacks then it limits who I can pair my Dragonite with. So perhaps I should change to weaker attacks which have more accuracy, and then I have more team flexibility... But there's not much point having a team full of attackers with no strategy if you come up against eliteists. You generally at least need something that can rapid spin to clear entry hazards like spikes :/ Hmm, I'll have to consider this.
Yeah, I will EV train that Caterpie! XD I used to love the Little Cup on Stadium
Eheheh, I try! Lol, that's funny XD Yogurt XD I was thinking of doing some sort of name based on species or things that pokemon were based on for the ones I don't normally name XD
