Well, I can't say how I like Wildfire. I know there are many characters or even people who has strong feelings for them.
I don't know him much. But he seems to me handsom andΒ admirable. I like long haired characters and echidnas and he is all in one. His design is very well done.
I liked him from very first sight.
But I can't say how much according to others.

I use kind of basic drawing program, GIMP 2.6

I don't need some big programs like Photoshop or Paint Tool Sai or something... They are too complicated for me. I just need colours and classic brushes.

actually i already tried to use gimp but its way hard more than paint tool sai(in my opinion of course)
and i have photoshop as trial version and i dont have the time to go and buy the pro one XD
so i really count u as god because u know how to use gimp Β Β LOL JK

I think it is just what are you working in first.
Before Gimp I used Photoshop 2.0. But after mooving I coudn't find it. So I downloaded the free Gimp. It took about 2-3 years then I learned how to use what I need there.

I'm a t a loss for words with how great this picture is! and such a wonderful picture to give Oreana of her character
I love the overall atmosphere of this picture, the setting looks perfect for Wildfire, it fits the "wild" in his name very well. From the lightning storm going on to the wind blowing the grass. I find the grassy ruins rather reminiscent of Knuckles floating island but this of course has it's own look for Wildfire.
Also brilliant job on the wet fur and rainwater running down his fur!, I find that so tricky to do .

I thought it could be nice gift for such a wonderful person oreana is. Her Wildfire has very interesting design.
The stone column ruins was in my vision of the picture, I didn't mean it to something. But for me it was like some old abandoned echidna praying temple where Wildfire could find peace.
The water on the fur, well it is difficult but it is fun. I like drawing it. But since is the picture too dark, it is not visible there much.

He does have an interesting design
Still it is a very lovely picture, I think the darkness is just right, you can still see the water sliding down his fur but not have it too bright..hm maybe that's where I go wrong, I'll have to try with the darkness settings next time I draw the wet fur look.

Water is difficult. That is true. The trick is that water is not blue. It can be drawn in darker colour as the colour of fur is or a little bit brighter with a light blue or white shine or make the shine in a colour of background - as I have in this picture.
I think there are many good and better tricks to draw water, but I know just this one I've learnt. ^^

Yeah I learnt that too, I stopped drawing water blue long ago as it is clear and has shadows from the surfaces below it. Water is something I am always experimenting with, like with eyes and metallic surfaces.
There is also a stream I pass on my way home from work and I very often stand and stare at it, studying how I would digitally paint it if I was to attempt to do it

Yes! doing it drop by drop is great too! I think it's because of the digital sensitivity with a tablet you can then get those thinner parts, I don't know what it is about drawing the drops by hand but they just have that awesome look to them

Wow, this is VERY nicely done. Not only does Wildfire look amazing in your style...but just the atmosphere, capturing that storm. Even capturing making it feeling like Wildfire is indeed part of the storm by having the rain clashing against him and water running down his fur. Very nicely done indeed.

i think Wildfire would look amazing in every style. He has very interesting design. I was looking on his character sheet oreana drew. I wanted to not forgot anything. Well... I admit, I kinda elongated his suit and added him a belt.
I wanted to catch an atmosphere of that Wildfire has strong personality and that he is not afraid of any storm comming. As he patiently waiting, having thought in his mind that if he'd be strong enough he will survive because every storm once ends. And everything will be alright again.
