Description
An old-ish image of Marvel Comics' mutant superheroine Dazzler, during her brief punk phase as a member of Excalibur. This was mostly an excuse to play around with energy effects and to paint a leather jacket from scratch in Photoshop. Originally done in 2007, at which time it featured posters of Saturday Night Fever and the LA punk band X (respectively, to represent the character's disco past and her team allegiance and then-current punky design.) I've replaced those with royalty-free music/concert related posters from sxc.hu.The base image was a 3D render in DAZ. The brick wall was a quick 3D render in Bryce. The costume, hair and effects were created entirely in Photoshop. The face is based on a combination of different photo references.

New Excalibur was the last time Dazzler was given decent treatment as a character. So naturally I love this one.

I don't think I read much of it, oddly enough... I mostly did this just cause I liked the design.

Well, needless to say, Dazzler was the ONLY reason I got it. And, up until the end, it was a fun read for the most part. At least for a Dazzlite like me.
