Description Got nostalgic and drew a Growlithe (for the first time), since they're one of my favorite pokemon. How could you not love these cute little guys? static.pokemonpets.com/images/… And then they evolve into even fluffier Arcanines. I mean, you all know how I am with fluffy/shiny things.
I never realized how weird his ears and eyes were, I struggled a lot with those (and ended up just changing the eyes anyway.)

I doodled this in my sketchbook and finished it digitally. I wanted to try another drawing like this Dalton Doodle  I did two years ago, with the sharp lineart & gradient shading. I used to draw bold lineart exclusively, but over the past year or so whenever I've tried to do that (and trust me, there has been many terrible attempts that I've scrapped,) it just turns out really ugly and childish. I just seem to work way better with the little pencil brush I use nowadays.
But I think drawing something I've never drawn before (a Growlithe) helped me get it down a little better.

I put all those white sparkles on him because ... i mean it's technically a character from an anime, i figured it was now or never, lol.
And I just made him super shiny in general. He's a fire-type pokemon, he's allowed to be bright and glowy, ok? shiny pooch.

***cue nostalgic-rambling that you can skip.***
My brother and sister and I grew up watching the first series on TV, and we were obsessed with it. That was before we were even aware that they were based off games. It was nice because it was a show that all three of us could enjoy and bond over, and it was one of the few shows we actually memorized the times it was on so we could make sure we didn't miss any episodes.
I haven't played many of the games, just Pokemon Pearl, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time (which by tHE WAY, who gave them permission to make such a intriguing and sad story into a Pokemon game?? Both of my siblings and I literally cried & got choked up with that ending, what the heck,) Pokemon X, and Pokemon Sun. But those last two were actually my sister's games. I just watched her play all the story parts, and since I was injured & off of work when she got Pokemon Sun, I would play it for her while she was at work. I'd wait to get to any of the story parts, I just went through catching all the Pokemon for her to fill the Pokedex, and leveling up certain pokemon that I figured would be helpful to her down the road.

Anyway, yeah. I can't pick one favorite pokemon because there's a ton of them that I love (especially with the Pokemon Sun & Moon games, they added such cool pokemon,) but Growlithe(/Arcanine) here is definitely one of them.
