Description I know.
It's so unbelievably TERRIBLE to say the least. The anatomy is horrid, and don't get me started on the 'blending'.

I don't know how to blend. Also I was bored one day and decided to sketch in photoshop. Said sketch turned into this.
One of my main OCs can manipulate shadows, and cause them to manifest into solid shapes (and generally screw with peoples heads). This is not that OC, I just wanted to show someone using magic.

This random person stumbles upon a rare artifact-a dragons egg. In this random little world that formed in the time I spent drawing this, Dragons are associated with elements. But there are a set number of elements-therefore a set number of dragons. One for each element. You have Different types. Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. Then Shadow and Light. The dragons have magical abilities associated with their choice element. However in turn for their power they have short life spans-only a hundred years or so.
But dragons are tricky, cunning creatures. Every dragon in existence is female. Throughout their lives they lay hundreds-if not thousands of eggs. Through some odd, mystical bond one of these eggs will hatch if the dragon ever dies.
This human happens to have stumbled upon the very egg that is chosen to hatch. When she touches it the magic releases, binding with her soul and giving her the power to manipulate shadow. She will have to learn to take care of the dragon and train it, or it might get hungry and eat her. If she abandons the hatching egg, the dragon will be drawn to her-like a moth to a flame.

Their bond is the first of its kind-mainly due to the ridiculous environments that the dragons are found in.

Earth-Depending on its hatching place this dragon could've been found in huge mountain ranges (granted they don't get too cold) or massive, remote forests (probably rain forest).

Wind- This dragon could be found only near the tallest places in the world.

Fire- Volcanoes and geysers.

Water- Oceans and underwater caverns.

Shadows- Anywhere with little light. Caves would do, though the dragon would wander about outside at night.

Light- Bright places, obviously. Migrates with the sun.

Can you tell I was bored? Haha. Maybe I'll do some other elements. (:

Oh. One more thing-the shapes that the shadows form are a representation of the dragon's past lives.
