I find it kind of odd that every time a male Nintendo character beats the game, they get a kiss from the damsel or something romantic, and yet when a female Nintendo character beats the game, they usually strip down to their undergarments and get into a sexy pose... I''m surprised too. I noticed it as well, and I think poor Samus deserves a far better reward,especially since Metroid's been on hiatus since a certain game called Other M, like a huge amount of cash. An enormous raise of cash is so much better than having to pose in a,"you know what".
I also feel sorry for Samus after Nintendo ignored her 25th anniversary and focused more on celebrating The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario's 25th anniversary. The Legend of Zelda got Skyward Sword, A remake of Ocarina of Time, and an orchestra, and Super Mario got a sequel to Super Mario Galaxy and a port of Super Mario All-Stars, but Samus got absolutely nothing. It's like Nintendo hates the Metroid series because it's targeted for a more mature audience, yet they worship The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario because they're for a family-friendly audience.

I don't know much about Metroid but I'm a big fan of Mario and Zelda but I agree it's pretty sad to overlook the 25th anniversary of a franchise like this.
