Oh my gosh, another doll person who loves BoB and Easy Company ;0; YESSSS. Band of Brothers is one of the best things I've ever seen. I loved Buck. This is gorgeous...I love your editing. You can tell by looking at it that it's a very heartfelt tribute. I love it ;-; and your boy makes an adorable paratrooper XB

Thanks so much for your lovely comments! I definitely need an official paratrooper doll or something... XD

Haha, I have (actually re-watched it few weeks ago, and now thinking of watching it again - just because), and it inspired me to do more research on Easy Company after that. :'D I hope I'll get to read the books written about these great heroes soon, I have yet to find them - not sure if they sell them in our local book stores.
...I actually cried a little after hearing that Buck has passed away, not really sure why. Maybe because when I watched Band of Brothers, I really felt like I was living with them through every moment.. And I felt like I knew Buck personally, even though I certainly did not. XD

I just finished my first re-watch of Band of Brothers. I am totally obsessed. ; )
I too would really like to read their books. I haven't looked myself yet; my current list of things to read is pretty long so I have to cut through that first!
I almost cried when I heard about Buck... I know what you mean. : (
Even though I never knew him personally, I feel that Spielberg and Hanks did such a phenomenal job with Band of Brothers, that you really were part of the gang.
Also... I'll let you in on a little secret. I may or may not be obtaining paratrooper dolls within the next few months... ; )

It's one of those series you can watch over and over and over and it will never bore you. ♥
And Spielberg and Hanks indeed did an incredible work. I could go on forever about how great the series are... :'D It's just my ultimate favourite of all time.
Ohhhhh, I like secrets. Especially when they're about the possibility of seeing paratrooper dolls in the near future. ;D ♥

Ugh, tell me about it. I just re-watched it, and I could just go back and watch it again!
There is something about the demeanor of the men back then that is really noble and inspiring... something that seems to have disappeared mostly in today's society.
I don't know, sometimes I really feel like I was meant to be born a lot earlier than I was!
Well, let's just say that they're going to be part of my "tribute dolls" with Lindbergh (who is homage to Charles Lindbergh). If I get payments in for the dolls I have on layaway, then they should come sooner than later... ; )

...I started re-watching it last night. XD
And yeah, I get that feeling when I think that I would have rather been a man and born earlier just so I could have fought among the heroes. I wish they had time machines, I'd grab my gun (which I don't have though, but...) and run to help.
But yeah, the relationship between the men is just beautiful. It's really something I've never seen in my life, outside the television.
Sounds great, I can't wait until you get them! XD Oh and, there's one thing I have always wanted to know; is your doll Nix perhaps named before Lewis Nixon? Seeing that his name is Nixon and he's called Nix, I just can't help thinking that it's no coincidence. To tell you the truth, I was going to have a character named Nixon with the nickname Nix, but seeing that you already had a doll with that name, I decided to ditch that name. :'D And I actually found a more suitable name for the character too... But yeah, I'm probably going to have a doll named after one of the Easy Company men in the future.

Nice... so now we can oogle together about BoB, yes?
I agree. I need a time machine. If you invent one, please tell me! I will time jump with you. ; )
...okay, you got me. XD Nix was a gift from a good friend of mine. Though a SWD Lucas has always been the "ultimate doll" on my wishlist, I never thought about a character for him. So, when I got him I was trying different names and things and nothing fit. I kept wanting to call him Lucas... which is just lame to name the doll after the mold name. XD Long story short, I stuck him in pilot clothes and he suddenly "fit" to me... and I will admit that after watching BoB I thought Nix sounded so cool, so I decided on that as his nickname. Totally didn't intend for "Lucas Nixon" to sound ridiculously like "Lewis Nixon" but oh well. XD
You should totally have a doll names after an E Company guy! Secret #2: the paratroopers I'm getting are going to be Roe and Luz, after Doc Roe and George Luz. Paying my homage to those heroes passed away. : )

hae-ri In reply to brittmiscast [2012-02-29 20:36:04 +0000 UTC]
Yes! XD Really, I could go on about BoB forever, if no one stopped me.
And sure, you'll be the first one I'll tell - we have one problem though - we both are female. Oh well, I guess I'll have to invent a machine that can change person's sex temporarily then. ; )
Haha, I knew it! But Lucas Nixon is a great name, I really like it. ♥
Doc Roe! The episode that had him as a main character was one of my favourites, though it was one of the saddest episodes too, because they lost so many of their comrades.
I think this doll project of yours is a really great homage. Seriously, I can't wait until I see the dolls. XD
I was thinking of naming one of my dolls Malarkey. He's one of the characters in BoB (eh, feels kind of wrong to call him a character, since he's a real person too...) that touched me the most, because I could somehow empathize with him. He also served more time on the front lines than any other member of Easy Company, and well... his name is great. I love pronouncing it. :'D

Oh I could too... bahaha
Well, we could always pull a Mulan and just... "pretend." ; ) Or, yes, I wouldn't mind magically being a boy for a while. I'm short, so I bet I'd be hanging out with Frank Perconte a lot!
Yes, I loved that episode too... I really wanted my two dolls to represent the guys of Easy so I chose their medic and radioman! Both little guys are getting wings like Lindbergh... "their jump wings." XD Oh, question for you. I was thinking of which LittleFees fit the characters of Luz and Roe the best. Luz I can't decide, but I feel like Roe could totally be a LTF El?
Oh Malarkey! Do it! He is so great in BoB... I would absolutely LOVE the chance to meet him in real life. He seems like such an awesome guy. : )

Haha... I bet they would find out like in two seconds that I'm a girl though XD But I agree, I really wouldn't mind being a boy for a while and hanging out with Perconte!
Aw, they're going to be so cute! ♥ I agree that El would be the best for Doc. Luz is a bit tricky, I just roamed through Fairyland's websites... I don't actually know much about LittleFees, haha. But I was somehow thinking that Shiwoo might be a cute little Luz! Did you have anything in mind for him? (lol at me being so curious)
He really is! It's kind of hard to decide who are my favourites from BoB by the way, because they are all so great. True heroes, each and one. But meeting Malarkey in real life would really be awesome... or actually any of the E Company men would do. XD But I don't think I'll ever get the chance, I don't even live in the USA or anywhere near.

Me too.. I can't even pretend to be tough. XD
I know! I can't wait! Layaway money needs to come in faster!!
Yeah I was thinking Shiwoo too, actually. : O I think he may be able to pull off Luz' cheery and humorous nature.
Not sure I can choose a favorite either... first time I watched it, I think my favorite was Major Winters. Now re-watching it, I've grown to really like Speirs, Doc Roe, and practically everybody. XD I feel like I'd just want to hang out with them all!
I think E Company has reunions in Normandy every now and then. Still a bit of a ways for you, but better than jumping the ocean? XD They have reunions in the U.S. every year, though information on them is hard to find sometimes. I really want to go to one!

hae-ri In reply to brittmiscast [2012-03-01 08:35:37 +0000 UTC]
My first favourite was Winters too, and I still admire him a lot. But the other guys have really grown onto me, even Bill Guarnere, though I didn't really like him first. :'D But now I like him a lot!
Oh, it would be so great to visit Normandy. My friend went there last year (I think), I'm so jealous of her. She's obsessed with World War II too, like me.
Ah but it would be so amazing to go to one of those reunions....

Wild Bill grew on me too... well, they all grew on me!
Usually in any given movie I can determine a favorite character, but in Band of Brothers... that is far too difficult. XD
I've been to Paris, but never anywhere else in France. I really want to go to Normandy, though. Doesn't look like I'll be in Europe again anytime in the near future, but there are so many countries I want to visit...

And my next trip will be to South Korea; I'm pretty sure that it'll take me years to save up for another trip after that one... :'D But someday I'll be there!
I have actually been dreaming of a railroad trip inside Europe, I could visit all the countries I want with just one train ticket! But we shall see. XD

That's what I love about Europe...most of it is fairly close and you can visit so many countries!
The U.S. is so big, you're lucky to make it to Canada or Mexico... let alone across the ocean. XD
One of my really good friends lives in England and she hops a small plane over the channel to Europe a lot. So cool! <3

Indeed! And I envy your friend, to her France is so near. :'D If I wanted to go to France by train, I'd have to go through so many countries to get there. But, in the other hand, I have nothing against seeing Russia, Poland and Germany on the same trip, as I have always wanted to visit those countries. XD Plane would be easier, but I think it'll be really expensive.

Bahaha sorry, we should stop talking about him, or you will get excited!
I'm expecting a layaway payment in a few days, then I should have the funds to get one of them. However, I'm thinking of waiting so I can buy the boys together... haha

hae-ri In reply to brittmiscast [2012-03-08 02:10:18 +0000 UTC]
Probably yes. XD Red hair would be nice, so far my boys have only brown or black as hair colour and it's boooooring, haha. Besides, he's not Malark without red hair!
And yes! Let's stop here... Otherwise I might just get lost into some doll websites again and that is never good for me. XD Well, planning on new dolls named after Easy Company men is certainly not doing good for me; I'm now fantasizing a doll named after Joe Toye. Not good at all. Can I blame you for this? :''D
Haha but it would be nice if they'd arrive at the same time, Luz and Roe. Maybe easier too, you don't have to place an order twice.

Haha XD Well, we never know, maybe in the future I'll have both Toye and Malark sitting in my glass cabinet! It is really tempting to get Toye as a doll, because one of the moments that touched me the most in BoB was when Toye lost his leg and kept saying "I gotta get, I gotta get up". I always cry when I watch that scene ;_;
DOA Marketplace is evil! XD I just bought a head from there, a head that I hadn't been planning on getting home in months... And now he's gonna be here next week. I don't mind though, my favourite OC is coming back together even better than he once was ♥
