--------------------

All I have to say is... Tsuku looks fantastic in black and white.
It really gives his skin an almost silver quality to it.

I am loving on my macro lens, as always... it does a fantastic job of picking up his face-up details!

I love how there's so much contrast. How there's a wide range of greys and then there's the dark black of his hair and around his eyes, and then the really light grey/white around the nose and lips. Lots of black and white is just greys, but this has just enough of everything. I love it. <3

It's really interesting that you mention the contrast/density of this photograph. I actually spent hours (some shooting, some post processing) getting the tonality on this photograph exactly right.

All photographs are supposed to have pure white, pure black, and lots of shades of gray in the middle. All too often photos are flat (with just really dark or light grays instead of black or white) or too contrasty so that there is too much white and not enough tonal differences.

...putting the professional photographer aside in me, I must commend you on your good eyes. A lot of people don't pick up on "good" contrast. ;D AND you are one of the only few to consistently give me feedback on my work. I am very grateful for that. ♥

I'm no professional photographer, but I've taken a couple of classes and my dad's been doing photography for years. So, I do know a little bit about what's supposed to be there and whatnot. xD

I can imagine it took forever to get this thought! Jeez! It's such a great shot~!

And awww. Your photos are great, though. I always love commenting on them. There's so much good stuff to say about them! 8D

Oh! That explains it, then. If only other people understood as well. haha XD

Thanks! Always looking forward to comments from you... ;D

I know, right? Some people think that if they just make a shot black and white it's automatically artistically beautiful. It's so sad. Dx

And awwww. That's so sweet. <3

It's very true... I could rant and rave about a lot of technique misuses of the amateur photographer, but... eh. Whatever. XD;;

I'm sure I'm probably guilty of some. BUT. I try my best. xD

That's okay. You are forgiven. I'm just a psycho photographer. ; 3;
