Description

It has been an eon since I uploaded something, I know, so for all of my watchers out there, I apologise for not being able to produce any art relevant for my deviantART page - college has been taking its toll lately, especially regarding what I can draw in what limited time I have.

Some of you may remember I have three main OCs; Axel-Schmidt , Barclay Knightswheel (no account) and Supercell-Sparks , and I have kind of been neglecting them lately because of my busy life. Well now that I have begun to progress my digital skills, though I still consider myself an amateur and novice, I can hopefully produce more OC and Carsona art, and who knows? Maybe in time I shall be able to consider trades and requests again - albeit, not at the present moment.

Anyways I know that I usually produce a miniature anecdote, almost like a diary entry when I submit art of him, however, I created this digital version purely as a reference for when he is not fitted with his equipment outside of the Tornado Season, and just in temporary work in his home town Hutchinson, Kansas. Also, I am going to update his biography and personal information since I first submitted him as an OC back on the 14th of March 2013, as it will create a nice reference sheet for me in the future, so feel free to skip this part if you'd like - there will be some changes, though.

---

Name: Supercell "The Lone Chaser" Sparks.
Birth: 2nd of July 1974.
Age: 39 years old.
Model: 1970 Mercury Monterey (2 door hardtop).
Body Colour: Sand yellows/beiges/browns with chrome trim - typical 70s livery.
Defining Personal Features: Cracked canine from 'the incident', loud engine and mufflers, clunking in his bonnet, crooked smile - often quite an intimidating with a sick laugh.
Eye Colour: Dark hazel - brown with green flecks in the centre.
Top Speed: 108 mph (175 kph).
Race: American, Caucasian (Redneck background).
Religious? Not strictly, but does believe in karma and paranormal/supernatural spirits (No specific religion).

Origin: Hutchinson, Kansas.
Lives: Nowhere specific during the tornado season (April-June), but owns a small house back in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Ocupation: Freelancing Tornado Chaser, photographer, and works wherever he can find work outside of the Tornado season.
Friends/Colleagues: Has a friend called Jeb back in Kansas, an ex Tornado chaser from another rival, yet friendly team.
Sexual Orientation: Straight.
Relationship? Not at the moment.
Criminal History:   Arrested with a month in jail for a small fight.

Personality: Can often seem as coming across quite cold, harsh and occasionally snobbish, in a way, when it comes to modern Tornado equipment. He enjoys a good laugh and bonds with those he likes very quickly; a loyal friend for a life time - although sometimes vulgar with little regard for the world outside his own.
Likes: Long drives, extreme weather, drinking at old bars, taking photos of the tornado season, passing through taking in the sights, philosophical thinking.
Dislikes: Being cooped up in buildings, watching an unproductive tornado, high-tec tornado equipment (he likes the old fashioned ways), rookies, people who try to join his convey, silly questions, being ridiculed as a bit of a hillbilly.

Backstory ~
Supercell has always been a quirky and misunderstood fellow. He has no one to call a solid friend besides Jeb, due to his reserved nature and nomadic lifestyle during the tornado season, since he stays little more than 3 days in one place.
When I say Supercell is reserved, this is not meant in a rude sense, oh no, the fellow is quite friendly once he grasps you, but this extreme fear of getting too close to people is spurred on with his dark and haunting past....
During the 1980s, when at the age of 13, Supercell left his aunt's home, to join a gang of 7 tornado chasers, travelling throughout the whole of tornado alley; collecting data, taking photos, improving science in the hope that the warning systems for cars living in the tornado-prone zone would have an effective warning system to inform them of approaching tornadoes. However, on one routine mission, in April 1990 when Supercell was 16, his team got too close to a stunning F5 tornado in Tennessee, and were killed in the tragedious storm, leaving Supercell the last rendering survivor of the F5.
Since this scarring incident, Supercell has vowed to stay a Tornado Chaser in the hope that one day he can complete what him and the rest of his gang set out to accomplish, but refuses to get involved with any team - especially ones with new technology, claiming that he did not want to get close to anyone again, and that the new gadgets were for half-wits who did not know what they were doing nor possess the instincts and skills he had himself.
Yet on a usual routine run, he bumps into an enthusiastic British Tornado Chasing amateur, Becky Alloyby.

---

So, there's the update, and yes - yes I gave him a criminal history; he comes off as quite a cold survivor, and I like that; big softy really, but I guess he prefers not to wear his heart (engine), on his sleeve (fenders).

I also hope you guys like my art - it took me just over a week, and each evening I spent about 2 hours on it, so about 17-20 hours on it - hey, I am bad with computers, so not bad for a first try.

Enjoy, everyone!

Hmmm...where to begin...okay here goes

May I just say how amazed I am, considering that this is only your 1st try, and seeing you doing digital for once is an outstanding big step for you Even here I can already see the tiniest details such as the headlights and the grill features being maxed out and revealed more

2ndly, you got the shape of the car absolute top notch perfect. It's smooth, and clean, and straight and perfect proportion. Totally aced it

The shading is not too shabby, considering this is a first attempt, and a vector. If you keep up the digital work like I have, you can expect to improve on that within a matter of weeks ^_^ Not to mention you'll get quicker as well once you know what to do

I can see a lot of work and 100% effort has been put into this, and you should be very proud of it, because even my 1st digital pic simply cannot compare to this flawless result

I hope to see more of these in the future when you have enough time and patience to do so. Keep up the fantastic work

Awwwww gosh, thank you so much.

I was so worried putting this up on dA to be fair, because there are so many other digital artists in the fandom that surpass my own digital skills, since they, alike you, are years in advance, where as I am a more pen-to-paper kind of artist.

Thanks about the shading - it is realistic in shape wise and colour, however, I didn't blend the difference together as it's kind of inspired by how I draw people in that Storm Hawks way - I tend to shade cartoons in this spikey weird form. I might consider making it almost my 'trademark' with my digital art, whereas my traditional can stay more realistic to the whole blending of the body surface - I hope to begin backgrounds soon - gosh that will be difficult for me - I took 37 layers on Illustrator just creating this character!

Thanks Ali, it means a lot from the pros to have your support.

Youre welcome

Well, just as you said, but there are also artists who are greater skills than I have It all depends how much work and time you put into it

Well, I've only been using digi art for a year and a half

Ohh I see

Well that's alright. Critics need to be careful on criticism. The way they do their art may just be their style of it, as you said

I dont think that many layers is required. I only use one, and if I ever use multiple layers, they are merged together into one

The other great thing about digital is the use of stock images and backgrounds. Everyone does it. You can use pics as a background (if you credit) for your characters or art ^_^

Youre welcome, trust me, you're making a good powerful start to success

BritishRedHead27 In reply to The-Ultimate-Gamez [2014-01-19 01:41:05 +0000 UTC]

Well I certainly have no time for much these days, but I try and put work into it!

Still, that's another year and a half more than me; Mrs Ancient-traditional!

Wha--?
You can do that?
I didn't know that people used photographs and stock images for backgrounds; I always thought people created their own, that's why I felt a little worried that my backgrounds would look like a four year old trying to draw that "typical" house and tree!

Danke.

ahahaha Who said traditional art was bad though? It's still art

Of course! Look ---> the-ultimate-gamez.deviantart.…

I used a background pic in that Can you see?

Ohhh booooo nooooooo, that'll never happen

Youre welcome
