The bone-faced stag squeezed his eyes shut to get away from the pain. "After all you've put me through, you're just going to leave like this?" He said through clenched teeth, keeping his eyes closed.
"You know I can't be with you, you're too dangerous." The mare's voice said sadly.
"I never meant to hurt you, I'll try harder from now on." Taboo pleaded, taking a step toward her.
"I can't take that risk, Taboo. Not with the baby." She took a step back and turned to leave. "I will tell him stories of your courage. You will never be forgotten." She whinnied before galloping away into the night. Heartbroken, Taboo fell to his knees, staring blankly after her through blurred vision.

Poor poor Tabs. He misses his mystery mare who I have yet to name... What did he do to make her leave? The baby? You will all soon find out.
