Wow, this is an excellent piece. It tells such an amazing story, although I'm not really too sure what it is. (Hahah I've literally been staring at this for like ten minutes now.)
Going by your comment and his clothing (which is AWESOME, by the way), I'd say that the man is, or rather, was a mobster. I'm assuming that the little girl is the man's child or someone very important to him, and God is granting him one last wish, in a way, to see her before he is sent to Heaven or wherever he's bound to go. And the little girl, on the other end, is praying to see him again. I THINK. I'm kind of befuddled about the man's jaw, though--but in a good way. It's so intriguing.
I have to say that this is one of my favorite pieces of art I've seen on dA in a while, not only for the excellent skill that went into it, but all of the thought and the wonderful story. You're definitely getting a fave for this one. Awesome work!!
