One of the foremost elders of the A Che tribe, occupying the frontier with Great Ming in the Sichuan Basin. Stern to outsiders and insufferably wily with his constituents, Ahyu specializes in medicinal horticulture (and is never seen without gourds full of brews for every ailment), so much so that other tribes, Yi or otherwise, often seek him for cures. Despite not being an ordained bimo (having rejected the path of a life of spiritual servitude after being born into a priestly family), Ahyu is well versed in communication with the spirits that inhabit the surrounding land not yet touched by the Han, and due to a long series of favours on his part, is able to call upon them in times of need.
