Dude, If you want a cool design for a moblin, go look up "Moblin Twilight princess".
Apparently they were almost added to the game, and let me tell you, if Ocarina of Time's ones were scary, this is pure nightmare fuel!

Wow, that was such a cool design, why couldn't they have put that in the game? It's like a scary-ass version of the Wind Waker design.

Say, while I have your interest, why not do a "Hyrule's most heinous" on them?
Oh, and another thing, does the phrase "Mechwarrior 3" mean anything to you?

I already did the Moblins in this series. If I redo creatures in different designs it deduces the number of different monsters I can do. I already wrote up a list of all the monsters to do before starting the project.
Never played Mechwarrior.

I see... That's alright then, I would probably suggest doing it for fun, but you do have a task you have assigned yourself.
I asked about Mechwarrior 3 because the commanding officer (and final boss) of the game is namedΒ Brandon Corbet, which sounds a lot to me like your name.
Alrighty, well, good job and all that.
Oh, and have you played Skyward Sword at all?

Nah, Brendan Corris is my real birth given name. I'm all for using my real name. Yeah, I've played Skyward Sword a few times. I'll be posting a Zelda series review in a second to go along with my monster series. Check it out.

I used to think that they were some kind of beetle. It wasn't until later that I found out what they were supposed to look like.

Moblins were always my favorite thugs to fight in Zelda. You captured them very well. I'm really enjoying this series, since Legend of Zelda is one of my favorite series of games.

Thanks. They've always been some of my favorites, too.

I'd say the towering and brutish appearence properly illustrates the intimidating aura they have in all of the games. They're tough enemies and I think these are the most formidable looking versions I've seen yet!

Thanks a lot. Yeah, I tried to design them so that if they appeared to you in a game like this, you'd be totally scared.

In SS they were a pain but in all the other 3-D Zeldas they weren't that bad.

Every enemy was a pain in SS because they all had the redundant strategy of forcing you to choose the right direction to slash. They were too easy in OoT, though.

Yeah, what the hell were Skyward's Moblins? I mean, they were really only a challenge on narrow bridges and the like, and I just slashed the life outta them, really. I like the WW Moblins best. The OoT ones scared me.

BrendanCorris In reply to UseTheBrakes [2013-05-31 17:53:02 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, and in most cases with the ones on narrow bridges you could just drop down to the ledge and creep past them anyway. I thought they were tough the first time I played them but the second time I played through the game I realized how easy they were. The WW ones are my favorites too, and yeah, the OoT ones were pretty scary, like when you were certain they couldn't see you, then they'd turn scream and charge at you. Man, good times.

The first time I fought them, I was like, "Awesome, you can cut their shield or even climb it!" But then I just flailed.

That's how you beat the Iron shield Moblins. Lemme guess...now you're thinking they're REAL pathetic. Well, they kinda are.
π: 0 β©: 1
BrendanCorris In reply to UseTheBrakes [2013-06-05 07:19:11 +0000 UTC]
I always just used my shield when they strike and it leaves them stunned and open for attack for a while. If they're not on a thin bridge I'll just run in circles around them and attack their backs when exposed. Learning this makes them even easier. Yeah, pathetic is the right word.

UseTheBrakes In reply to BrendanCorris [2013-06-05 18:07:12 +0000 UTC]
...Never thought of a shield bash. Considering how predictable they are, that would be cake.
