It is sad to think it's speculated she used to live a perfectly normal life but since she was supposedly married to an Overwatch agent that made her a target of Talon to eliminate her husband.
Although she's badass, ultimately she's a broken person that no longer feels nothing for anyone.

She's blue because supposedly shes been brainwashed and truned into an assasin weapon that no longer has emotion, that left her heart beats slow (like spider) and eventaully her bloods run slow as well, and turned her skin into blue. There's no warmth under her skin. However her original skin color was nude for sure and her eyes are amber (still amber in the form of widowmaker).

That's not a speculation, that's her official bio. Also she can apparently still feel something because sometimes she will call her husband and then curse her being alive if she dies and you resurrect her.

I'm sorry guys, I love her too but she's gone. You can read on their official overwatch site at hero gallery (widowmaker -> story). Here is a quote: "Amélie was gone. Now, Widowmaker is Talon's most effective assassin, feeling little save the satisfaction of a job well done." I think there is no hope for her.

Mental conditioning can be broken, though, so possibly there's still some hope? Although now that Ana Amari's been announced, we already have our hero sniper, so they probably won't change Widowmaker's character.

Hard to tell. Blizzard said Overwatch will have seasons, there will be character development and the story will progress further. Widowmaker might get her mind back and become a hero rather than a villain, who knows? She's definitely not gone yet, there's still hope.

That may never happen. Overwatch was originally meant to me a MMPORPG, but it got cancelled. They only salvaged one of the game's modes and released it as the Overwatch we know today. If there ever is a movie/TV show, we may see more character development.

To compare her to a more well-known and popular franchise, I suspect Widowmaker is the Scorpion of Overwatch. She may get her redemption arc, but I don't see her managing anything better than anti-hero.
