Maybe later I will switch to fanart fridays, but for inktober, I like the prompts on mondays for fan art better than the prompts I've found on fridays! This is for day 8's prompt "Star". Sylvando from Dragon Quest XI, while not the main character, is a glorious star. He was the star of his circus before he joins the hero, and I'm sure he remains the star lighting many a fan's heart!

I tried to draw him from a very dramatic below angle, and I've almost gotten it to look how I want it to. Clearly I will need to draw people at this angle more often to get the hang of it! I also did two completely different takes on shading the piece. For this version I used clip studio's screen tone tools for the first time. I like how straight forward it was, but I think there is a lot more I could do with it than I have managed to figure out. I'll probably play with this style a few more times before I decide whether it's for me or not.
