It is difficult to put into words how important the movie Moana is to me. All characters and lyrics belong to Disney, not me. I just want to share how it moved me.

On so many levels it has such powerful resonance. Love and Peace to all of the women in my life who have been hurt, discourage, and afraid. The world puts us in so many boxes, makes us wear so many masks to protect ourselves. Moana reminds us not to let this define us.

The moment when Moana looks at Te Ka and recognizes her as the mortally wounded Te Fiti slays me. Expressing that recognition and connection via an embrace has been something in the back of my mind for a while now. So here you have it: an alternate sized Te Ka holding Moana close, Moana offering her heart back to her, and where they touch Te Ka is healed and TeFiti's greenery is restoring.

Materials Used: Clip Studio Paint, Tears, Tissues, MORE TEARS.

There are more touch ups and tiny details I want to add to this, but I really just have to take a break from it. I end up sobbing every time I work on this piece. And while it's a good cry, it's exhausting. So, this is finished enough for now. Maybe in a few months I'll add more.
