Hello there! Thank you for submitting to for feedback
I will start by saying how much I adore photographs such as these, a sense of a profile picture taken of a person on the move, even when it's a model. He seems indulged in the distance, and you captured the emotion of "being lost in thought" perfectly. The angle that you picked compliments his looks, stance, facial structure but also frames him nicely into the shot. This angle, however, draws a bit of problem from the sun. Backlight often draws out the worst of light source work for a photographer, something you might have noticed on the left side with his shoulder, neck and parts of the hair.
They have taken a toll from the harsh light that washed out the details and bounces hard against the black. What you can do to counteract this is by editing and changing the "highlights" and "white" settings until it looks softer or during the photography ensure your ISO is on a level of comfort and use the shutter to control the light flow! This can also provide with creating a sharper image, while this one isn't overly blurry, it has lost some of the details of the face due to motion blur.
All in all, it's a fantastically well-done job to capture a model in a setting that feels more like a slice of life than anything, combined with you mentioning this is a friend and not a model. You truly must have made him feel at ease and comfortable around you to produce such lovely photographs as the two you posted of him that I've seen.
