Happy St. Valentine's day, people! I hope you're all enjoying the most beautiful love moments in this special day!
(Before I start, I just want to specify that I don't want to start a new shipping-war. This is just my personal opinion & my take on the "Duncney" ship up until TDA. Keep it respectful if you want to share your opinions. Rude comments aimed only to insult me or anybody else will be deleted and the owners of those comments will be blocked).
So, I want to start by saying that I really liked Duncney during TDI. Their whole relationship, by the end of the first season, seemed to be leading to a whole different and more healthy development. It was the classic "bad boy and good girl learn from each other to be more moderate on their ways thanks to their love and mutual influence" trope, which I honestly never disliked as long as it was properly presented. The real problems, in my opinion, started during TDA, when the development from the previous season of both of their characters seemed to be almost completely thrown out of the window in order to create more drama in the series and still be interesting. Duncan was back to be a full-out bully/criminal, unwilling to change his ways and Court somehow changed from being an uptight goody-two-shoes with an addiction for rules to a ruthless, angry and violent contestant, completely incapable of playing by the rules. Now, I do understand more or less how they ended up being like that, but I personally didn’t like it. A lot could be said about their later developments even after they ended their relationship during TDWT and TDAS, but I'm gonna skip that in order to tackle the "violent" topic. It's true, Duncan has always been the bully/criminal/asshole punk stereotype, but as far as I can tell he was never violent towards his love interests. He played the thug role in order to hide his softer side, a side he was ashamed of. Now, I think we can all agree he was never a "good boyfriend/person" nonetheless, but I don't think anyone deserves to be kicked just for that. I've always felt like the most violent one in their relationship was Court (just think about all the times she's been shown punching and kicking him, especially on his genitals. This still leads me to think to a toxic relationship more than anything).
Anyway, this whole reasoning led me to the creation of this pic. I wanted to place it at the start of the events narrated during the special episode "Celebrity Manhunt". I imagined Duncan waking up in the morning in their devastated room, with Courtney still sleeping at his side after the last fight they had the previous night (therefore the bruises and the destroyed room) and the pace making which came after it. I wanted him to think seriously about their relationship for what it is, a mere seek for strong emotions which can only be provided by each other, and to realize that he still loves her nonetheless, but in order to gain true happiness for the both of them, he has to leave her.
I don't know, probably it's just my opinion, but I think that would have made a better development than the whole cheating/love triangle drama that came after it and that haunted the following seasons. Don't get me wrong, he still could have ended up with Gwen after it (I kinda like that ship too!), just in different circumstances. From my personal point of view, the events that happened after TDA are the definitive downfall for every single character involved.
Anyway, I hope that if you won't like the reasoning behind my pic, at least you can like it for its looks!
I did really enjoy drawing it!
I hope everyone's having a great day with their own sweet other-halves! And hey, if you don't have one yet like me, I just hope you're enjoying the day nonetheless!
Just never forget that if no one loves us now, someday, somebody will.

This is a great drawing of Duncan and Courtney. I’m just picturing from this that Duncan is regretting everything he did on season three with Gwen and breaking Courtney’s heart and Duncan tries to apologise to Courtney but they end up fighting after their fight Duncan goes to take a breather and when he comes back he sees Courtney sleeping and then Duncan covers the blanket over Courtney and kisses her on the cheek and whispers I’m sorry and just sits next her crying quietly and he regrets everything he did to Courtney.
To be honest I ship Duncney more then Gwuncan ever since season total drama island and I love the bad boy and good girl relationship.
Overall a great drawing and stay safe 🙂🌈🎨🌸👏

This is just awful, but I understand what you mean. Duncney's relationship has been extremely toxic ever since TDA. And while I still sort of like them in TDI, the two would be better off apart, especially considering how much worse their interactions become.

Poor Courtney! If I ever saw her and she was all bruised up like that, I would do anything to heal her and make her feel better.

Sorry for being a little random with that comment. This is a great pic btw.
I'm just saying that the writers purposely ruined Courtney's character by making her violent, manipulative, and uncaring just for Gwuncan to happen. If that request was denied we would have seen her and Duncan in better light. But sadly that wasn't the case.

Don't worry, thanks btw!
Yeah, they decided to take a bad route for their developement, and that's a pity. I would have liked for them a better future

Ok, I've just searched and watched it, but I'd say there's a big difference between kicks in the genitals and various other body parts and a flip-flop slipper in the face. Still wrong, as any kind of violence is wrong, but a huge difference nontheless. Also, this happens at the end of TDWT, after 3 seasons of violence from Courtney.

She was there only to insult them both while they were just trying to be left alone. Court had every (more or less) right to be mad at them as she had been cheated on by both of them, but she was there just to get her petty revenge against them, singing closebt where they were in front of to the camera how the both of them were horrible people and making fun of their defects.
And no, a flip-flop slipper in the face does not hurt, I'm sorry but "emotional damage" does not work like that. Her being physically violent towards him for 3 seasons straight is completely different than a flip-flop thrown to her to make her stop harassing them.

Una de ellos es una amiga que la traiciono y el otro su novio, y se besan frente a ella burlándose y le tiran un zapato, ella tenia toda la razón de hacer eso, Duncan recibió lo que merecía en all star, lastima que gwen no

Sorry for the late answer, I had a lot of trouble in coming back on DA.
And sorry again but I do not agree. Courtney's abuse on Duncan were from way before he even thought on cheating on her. And again - Violence is never the answer.

Sexual harassment? Are you serious? How and when is it mentioned in the series that he did such a disgusting thing? He was litterally the one being hit in the intimate parts all the time. And you can't go around saying he was using girls when he was trying to have a relationship with them. Anyone could do that anytime they get dumped. "oh, he/she used me! What a monster!" Yeah, except it doesn't work like that. And in Duncan's case it doesn't apply in any way, as it was impossible for him to keep getting on with Courtney (They broke up when he got out of the competition and never officially got back together before he kissed Gwen) because she was toxic all the time. And about Gwen, she dumped him, so how did he use her? You sound like you're making excuses because you want so bad for him to be the only one to be at fault. He's not innocent, I've never said that, but he's far from being the only one who's guilty.

Yeah, sure, an abuser... the guy who was shown to be tough only on the outside as a facade is now and abuser. Of course. Listen, this has been going on for quite a while now. I'm really starting to get creeped out by what you're implying and by what you seem to see in this serie. Evidently neither of us can convince the other, and I for one completely disagree with almost everything you wrote. Let's end it right here, I'm tired of translating from Spanish to Italian and from Italian to English.

This is because I don't condone physical violence against a partner. I'm not making excuses for what Duncan actually did (even tho I stand by what I said, he's not a molester like you've insinuated) because he wasn't innocent either, but it's a long shot from here to say that Courtney was the victim of their relationship. She was the one who kept on trying to change him even with physical violence. If it's not in self-defence, violence is always wrong.
End of discussion.

No problem. I just hate that Courtney was made to be what she was after TDI. Duncney was perfectly fine in season 1 and it all went to hell just for the sake of ratings.
