Description Here's Asphodel for Omnisciient CONTEST

Curiosity killed the cat, or... casted away lion from heavens. And now seems like Asphodel discovered something interesting, what  wasn't supposed to see...

It's a mixture between sculpture and art doll.
The wings are poseable and made of paper, hand cut one feather by one with great help from my mum
The tail and mane is made of real fur but don't worry, no animal was harm, I just needed to give a haircut to my white long-haired guinea pig after bath And I thought that his fur could be great mane!

The light in the base changes its colours so it can look deeply blue like here or red like hell's fire!
(by the way, the base was supposed to look like stone floor with a hole inside, and it looks like this... but without the figurine on it xD it was difficult to make a photo with nice angle for lion's face to make the floor visible)
I also made tiny books to put next to it, but forgot to paint them

The figurine is 8cm/3" tall, 18cm/7" long, 45cm/18" wingspan.

Here are photos from other angle, in heavenly blue and hell red:

and this is how the base looks like:

it changes color and can be white, yellow, blue, green, purple and red. but white, blue and red look the most interesting in my opinion

Also check out photos in the daylight, and more in the darkness!

sta.sh/2nlt1qlibwr here are previously made photos, but they are lame they were quickies to make it in time before deadline!

Thank you! Sure it takes a lot more time than drawing, but is more satysfying to me

To find modeling/sculpting more satisfying than drawing, that is a lot of patience and passion!! All I can say is keep up the great work!

With sculpting I can give life to fictional characters, I remember how happy I was when I sculpted my fursona years ago It's not perfect and now I'd make it way better, but I still like it, and for my lack of experience it was really a masterpiece then.
I also appreciate traditional work more than digital, as it's more difficult without the "undo" option, usually digital is more appealing, with bright, vivid colors, etc... but traditional, no matter if it's drawing, painting, plushie, figurine, leatherwork etc etc, is one of a kind (unless somebody is mass producing and repeat own designs with molds), and by that mean unique.

Haha so awesome!  (I've been collecting budgie feathers that fall out naturally of course!... I was thinking of using them in some creation at some point! )

Definitely! I have some pheasant and falcon feathers my grandpas found in the forest, but they are too big to make something of them, and I have only few of them. Maybe in the future... Wings and feathers are really fascinating to me.

They sound lovely!

Hey... maybe you could make a fancy quill pen out of one of them (eg. embed/fasten a metal ink nib).

I thought about it! But I have no idea how to do this. In Italy I saw really beatiful kits for handwriting, there was some sheets of old looking paper, ink bottle and pen made of feather with ornament on the nib, it as amazing!
