Thanks for Critique. Yep it's fair. Don't think that I’m going to change this piece at the moment, what’s done is done. But next time, I’ll try to use you advises wisely.

The first words that came to mind upon seeing this piece were "Holy Shit"... as inappropriate as that may be. From background to foreground the entire image immerses you in a sea of illustrated genius. Sometimes having the sun in a picture can completely ruin paintings, drawings etc... but Borbel made what can be a heavy detractor to most, into a strong advantage and an interesting lighting scheme. My favorite aspect is most certainly the bubbly globs of clouds and jagged outcroppings of rock encompassing the little boy. They contrast each other so strongly, yet the balance they achieve is impeccable.
The only thing that I wish this had was more realism... but thats more of a personal want, than a need. haha Other than that, this is a stellar work.

Haha of course. I honestly love this work more than most hyper-realistic digital pieces. Its much more interesting. I still kind of wish you would go back into it a little bit and make things even more awesome, via textures, small details etc... but like i said... thats purely a personal thing. Even without more detail, this piece is great.

Need premium to comment on critiques... oh well. I think the lack of detail is because of it's cartoon style... but your good work on the clouds make people want more detail (I believe the other reviewer uses the term "quality" instead of "detail"--I'm not an artist maybe quality is the right word).
I think you can keep it in a cartoon style and get more detail by using a technique used in the cartoon: Courage the Cowardly Dog.
I’d also like to see more 'drama' in the picture… more wind, have the kid fighting to keep control of the kite. More colors in the kite, maybe a box kite (it's easier to make the elements of a box kite look stressed, I think).
There's a translucent thing that starts at the top left foreground and moves to the right, into the picture. I like that a lot.
