Description Mya Stone returning from the Eyrie. I've been thinking in the idea of painting the Eyrie for months. First, I planned to draw only the fortress, then I did some sketches with Littlefinger and Sansa descending in company of Mya. During the exams (bored) I decided to paint finally one of the tidiest sketches only with Mya. And this is how it ends ^_^.

The paper I used was really bad and I'm not very satisfied with my execution... but the scanner help me and the image it's better than the real work.

The 6 towers are pretty much fantastic, the plan was that the Eyrie seemed more small and unimpressive... Again I'm not accurate with the book .

She looks like Mayan traider a little bit ^^ I like choose of colours.

Thanks for the comment again. You're right, the robe looks almost Mayan cloak, but alpine patterns in wood are sometimes broad.
Perhaps in my lazy mind alpine patterns are too broad... ^^U

Doesn't look like how I pictured her, but I love it nonetheless.

I like the way she looks almost Andine... That could suit well the atmosphere of the Eyrie.
But I have a little doubt about the perspective of the stone wall Mya is putting her hand on... Where does is begin?

I have also doubts about where exactly is the path that sustains Mya's feet and Donkey's hooves ^_^U. I think that I would need a map to explain it in some way possible. In a few words somwhere hidden by Mya's Cloak.

Y no había visto esto!!! Me encanta.

Arf! You're the only person I know who draws the background first and puts a person in as an afterthought! Most people do it the other way round.

A person and a donkey
In effect maybe one of the elements that I enjoyed more to draw is the path. I was thinking about how to depict stairs that go down and walk up at same time, also being lost in the distance. I sketched it for weeks until find something decent.

Beautiful! I like the castle and the choice of colors (brown, overall, while I picture the Eyrie always in white/grey/blue). The fairy-tale atmosphere, that's so different from Martin's style, is lovely. And I think that's the first picture on DA with Mya. Good work, you're a skilled artist!

Bodach In reply to Aryastarkeradan [2009-03-24 21:58:33 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! The fairy-tale atmosphere was not planned, but I used Swiss castles as a model thinking that the Alps would be similar to the Valley of Arryn. And Swiss Castles are very fantastic ^_^.
I imagined the picture more grey and blue also, but the anilines are wild and hard to use, specially on bad papers. Anyway the reddish atmosphere it's good for the sunrise effect, I hope.
