I paint my dunks too, and peels off with acrylics. There is a paint form america called angelus, which is for leather only. try that

have You ever heard about Hertigate paint? probably it's for leather too, but there was no chance to test it yet
and what about paint/pigment used in car enterior renovation?it shouldn't peel off i think
