Description before you pass judgement on this peice here, take a look at the secound variation. [link]

the observation here is not new. i seem to remember another comic with a similar phrase being used for a wedding vows. there was something more to it and that's why i made this. as i was working on it i got to thinking about what it had to say about both chairacters involved. i desided to make a duplicate of it and make a little change just to see how much the over all tone and meaning would change. and i thought about what that change says about today's society and the expectations for gender.

i'm not still bitter over the way Jenna broke up with me, noooooooooooo.

We're all terrible people after seeing this but hey I'm pretty sure we all knew that from the beginning.

#RedPillTheory in a nutshell.

Love is a lie. It's all manipulation. Power games, domination and submission. But some men break the cycle of systematic misandry and abuse. They go their own way.

This is a reason why I'm so disinclined to say "I love you" to any one. What if you do move on? I couldn't stand to break promises and hearts like that. I'll find m special someone someday.

i have to say that overall gender expectations due to society mean that this came amusing to me because this isn;t ho i was raised to see it working XD;
but the second variation does not surprise me at all- There are multiple things to blame for that, but i'm learning that things like that go both ways. therefore;
this comic and other variation = awesome.

Meh, i know men AND women who say it just like that, so i'm glad you did both. Although the men i've dated have to drrrraaaaaaaaaaag the relationship out until it's dead and then beat it to peices before they'll say that. Just get the pain over and done with quickly. Sheesh!

I BELIEVE THERE IS TRUE LOVE OUT THERE STILL!!! I know because i've seen it myself!!!!

i have seen cases where the partner stayed with the other through the toughest of times and weathered it out (e.g. cancer, bankruptcy, etc)

however i must admit many people (young ones maybe and especially?) think the way you portray here, in which case this isn't be called "love"

cheers

This is a very clever experiment you have here. It does make you think..
There was a joke in a webcomic; I don't think I can recommend, it's only funny some times, and it's hentai humour. But they had these recurring characters, a mom trying to have sex with her son. And then the author drew himself saying he could just switch the genders and pass it as a completely new comic, but when he tries to draw a dad and a daughter he gets beat up
Well in escence it had something to do with this

duststorm09 [2006-04-10 10:21:52 +0000 UTC]

I like the fact that you make both genders say the same, because its not like only a female would say that
The pic... yeah it made me laugh, because its true. And thereΒ΄s no use in hiding that fact

Yes it seems to make more sense and be slightly more appropriate when the girl says it. I would just assume that girls would be naturally more open with a thought like that than guys. Guys I'm sure would think it, but not be so ready to admit it that blatantly.

And this picture perfectly depicts one of my friends. She'll never be satisfied, I bet. Even if she does find the perfect guy, she'll still most likely get bored and move on.

Bob-Rz In reply to Metalhead71 [2006-04-10 06:48:19 +0000 UTC]

see, that's what i mean by changing the meaning. and why is that?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Metalhead71 In reply to Bob-Rz [2006-04-10 07:03:12 +0000 UTC]

Because I have heard guys say exactly that.

Really though,The meaning is that girls are sly and say everything side ways. They appear innocent and kind,And yes they are in touch with their feelings and know WHY they do things. But they still DO things that are just like guys. They still get bored with guys,Still leave guys for better guys. Guys though don't really care to know WHY they do something,they just do it. So a girl thinks a guy is cruel when he flat out says "I found someone better",rather then a girl trying to go around it with pretty excuses.

The difference is presentation to me.Image and presentation,The world has a hard time getting around those two things.
An ugly,shy,nervous looking guy never would get picked up if he hitch hiked. Everyone would say he was creepy and might be a killer. Every serial killer we have caught was a calm,cool charming man. Presentation goes a long way.

great way of expresssing that :3!

I noticed that the boy is smiling and seems to accept the fact.....maybe even thinking along the same lines.
It's sad how love has devolved from being revered as something sacred and eternal to being used a 5 cent toy you get in a happy meal.

Yet though it is a bit sad and depressing, it is true and very well presented, and of course, very comical.

I love it.
