Did you use any reference?

Yes, I had to use references for the wolves in the early stages: it was my first time painting this animal and I needed to know where the face markings should be, and how far apart the eyes and ears were.
So I looked at photos while sketching some wolves heads on paper (as this was meant to be a traditional piece for Inktober at first), then again for blocking out the main colors underneath when I decided to switch to digital. The rest was easy to figure out.

You're welcome!! Cool! I'm glad someone else knows about how bright the Moon can shine! Your piece kind of reminded me of back in high school when I had to defend a painting in class-critique over the class thinking the moon was too bright. I couldn't believe that none of them had ever noticed a moon like that! It's amazing how many people can miss "little" things like that. lol
Ooooo! I bet that's a pain! The moon may not shine in my window, but when the days get longer in the late Spring and up to the Summer Solstice and it gets light around starting around 3am, I have trouble sleeping. Even with the blinds closed because the sun starts shining around the sides, and the birds start singing. I don't usually MIND bird songs, but not at 3am. lol XD
BTW, I keep forgetting to say that I really like your Autumn avatar! Looks great!

I was about to say "Mowgli?" But then I saw his ears and the rabbit.

I had totally forgotten about the Jungle Book ^^ It was inspired by stories about feral children that I read not long ago.

Well... Mowgli IS a feral child as well... and it wouldn't surprise me if such stories led Kipling to write the Jungle Book.
