Description This illustration of Rammstein's song "Klavier" is very important to me and I'm gonna explain you why. It's long but it's worth reading, trust me.
This song gives me chills. The singer has a way to make you feel threatened and fascinated by the dark beauty of his voice.
It's a poem, of a man telling the story of how he killed the woman he wanted.
It's very complex and I can't talk about it before quoting and translating it.
I lack space for the german lyrics but I'll give you a link of the concert: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaWnnZ…

There by the piano
I was listening to her
And when her performance began
I held my breath

She told me
'I will stay forever by your side'
I had the illusion
That she was playing just for me
I spilled her blood
In the fire of my rage

There by the piano
She listened to me
And when my performance began
She held her breath

So this is the story of an unhealthy fascination and desire that turns into a passionate murder, that, we can all agree on that, doesn't make sense. It does though, because it perfectly describes an obsessive behaviour. The killer feels an overwhelming desire for the piano player, he wants to own her, but in the same time he feels threatened by her, she litteraly makes him stop breathing. That line is not a metaphor: he's too fascinated to breathe. The piano player probably never said anything to him, but he wants to interpret her performance as a love confession. At some point he realizes he doesn't own her, which is unbearable so he kills her. It's a kind of revenge: "you made me stop breathing, I thought you were mine, now it's your time to stop breathing cause you belong to me."

Also... This song always reminded me of the movie "The Pianist" by Roman Polanski, a must-see movie telling the story of a pianist during nazi occupation. There is a scene in this movie that terrified me deeply, when the pianist meets a SS. (If you saw the movie, you KNOW what scene I'm refering to, if not, telling you more details would ruin it when you see the movie)

So I took the two influences: Klavier, and The pianist, and I wrapped it in a hetalia AU. Austria is the jewish pianist, hiding, obeying and hoping he will survive another day, Prussia is the sick SS who's fascinated by him and his talent, obsessed and afraid, crazy with desire for this man, and he's gonna kill Austria before the love and anger consume him entirely. Both of them are in pain and they're terrified. The prey and the predator.
Which makes the whole story even more frightening and heart-breaking.

Oh god the Pianist.... this movie used to give me creeps as a kid..
Well every WW2 movie did , but the fact that I really liked Adrien Brody's character made it even more painfull to watch.
Still have a hard time to watch WW2 movies xD

Also PruAus and this crossover.. and that Rammstein song.. weird, creepy but beautiful combination!!!!

Yeah, and Adrien Brody, how can you go wrong there?Β
For a Holocaust movie it's also somewhat palatable, I guess the semi-happy ending helps with that.

I'd say it's more like a "okay, I can breathe, I'm not dead." kind of ending rather than a happy ending, though.

Yeah, a more haunting experience after surviving all that, but at least he got back to living his life doing what he enjoys.

Unexpected and pleasant surprise for us, your Hetalia fans
The first part reminded me somehow "Fatal Attraction" with Close and Duglas, the second encouraged me to watch "The Pianist".
Thank you Β Β

Wow...I really want to go watch this movie now. And even without watching it, just listening to the song and reading the description you wrote are enough to make this image more vivid and heart stopping.Β

It seems that then ending of this (for Prussia) would be the "just done trying to fight" ending...That life just became too much, and he would long for Austria and his music like a drug. It's very sad, and yes, terrifying if only because that kind of obsessive love doesn't happen everyday and in any other situation it could have been soul-mate love and not forbidden love.

(I feel like I'm not getting my point across and in the process rambling so I'm gonna stop now...Good work as always.)

thank you! The movie is really intense and the actors are incredible. I really recommand it, for it really expresses nazi occupation in a very convincing and emotionnally stressful way. If you like angst, it's gonna recharge you for a month. Yes, for the obsessive, which is a mental disorder, there is no other option than FULLY own or destroy. That's why they're so dangerous when not diagnosed, cause their brain applies the same logic with humans: if they want something, or someone, they're ready to do ANYTHING to get it, or them, and kidnapping is their nΒ°1 choice to get the person they want. Even that might not be enough though cause theyΒ  can be jalous of even the person's children, family, pets... they want everything from this person and want to be everything for them, and they might cut themselves to express their pain, cry for hours, and end up killing themselves or their victim.

In this AU, Austria is jewish and he's locked in a secret building with this guy, and he can't escape cause it ain't pretty outside either, and he hopes Prussia will let him live, cause he knows who he is and still he hasn't killed him yet, so Austria accepts to play for him, if that's the price for his life. But the sick look in Prussia's eyes worry him. He can see something's wrong in the way the soldier is looking at him.
