I just prefer werewolves be called werewolves, .. or lycanthropes.. I don't like the way they are always trying to avoid the word like it was dirty

No, not at all.. I'm saying they deserve respect.
There's nothing wrong with the word "werewolf".. In Underworld, fine, they want to make up words ok - but if werewolves are "lycans" then vampires shoulda been "fangs" or "kin" or something. If vampires are vampires, werewolves should be werewolves.
It's a perfectly good word, for an awesome thing and should be said loudly and proudly.
