Description Yemanja is an orisha, originally of the Yoruba religion, who has become prominent in many Afro-American religions. Africans from what is now called Yorubaland brought Yemaya/Yemoja and a host of other deities/energy forces in nature with them when they were brought to the shores of the Americas as captives. She is the ocean, the essence of motherhood, and a protector of children.

kind of a sequel to AGWE

The shell as a sailor cap, brilliant.

The boat with the water flowing from her fingers, I also like that quite a bit. Like the touch on the hair making them look like tentacles. All of it's executed exquisitely. Great work with the white silhouettes of animals and things in the background, also.

Those tentacles kinda freak me out. XD
There's so much going on here, I notice something new every time I look. I love the map section, and how she's holding the ship. And the turtle is great too!

haha the tentacles and the shell are like a PotC combo And the map. And the ship. I can't help it, I love those movies (and everything behind them!) so so much.

Childhood trauma from growing up with pirate stories?

Or maybe just this cultural sincretism from being latinamerican... who knows haha

anyway thanks a loooooooooooooooooooooooot
