if i may ask~
i have seen your traditional art and it's so beautiful and the colors are smoothly blended and its vibrant and just amazing!!!
i was wondering what do you use to edit your drawings on? I do traditional art, but my scanner always eats up the colors and blegh, but I don't know how to fix that(?) if you could answer it! please and thank you so much!

>//w//> Aww, thank you so much!!~
^w^ I use Photoshop to edit. Specifically the CS5 version. ;3; And I know what you mean! Scanners totally kill colors! OTL
;w; Usually what I do first is adjust the exposure/offset, if the scanner you have doesn't automatically do that. This will help generally fix the washed out look that scanners create. Then edit the Levels, or the amount of darkness and lightness in the picture. I sometimes play around with the Brightness/Contrast or Curves at this stage if I need to as well. A great way to check if your values are good in a picture is to convert it to greyscale. If the image looks washed out in greyscale, it is probably a good idea to edit the levels a bit more, for most drawings anyways. Then once the values are fixed I edit the hues via Color Balance. I play around with the various sliders until the overall colors of the pictures are what I want them to be. Then I sometimes edit the Vibrance to make the colors a little more intense if need be. Annnnd finally because scanners can sometimes make images look a little fuzzy, I scale down the final image and apply a Sharpen filter to set the drawing in focus.
;3; Err, if you don't have Photoshop, if I remember correctly GIMP has most of these features, and it is free. I used that before I got PS. TwT Anyways, hopefully that helps. Maybe i'll like, make a tutorial on it someday~

Nice tutorial. What I really like here is that you also go from dark to light, I like to do that too when I do something with coloured pencils (which isn't very often but you know).
I read many tutorials so far and there it's always explained to go from light to dark with the coloured pencils, which I just can't really do or what means I can't it's just that colours don't blend good then and it looks messier which I personally don't like.
So I'm kind of glad to finally found someone who does the dark to light thing just aswell^-^
Now I will take the inspiration you gave me and work on my stuff, have a nice day.

; v; Ahh thank you! I really did try my best with it <3
; o; Oh, and don't worry! You'd be surprised how many self-taught artists out there don't know basic drawing techniques. xD I only just recently learned about the 3 color rule. Hahah~
o vo Ohh I've used those before~ They aren't bad, but not as easy to blend~ If you can find them near where you live, I'd definitely suggest you get the two different Prismacolor pencils.
