Description Chapter 3: What Are Sisters For?

(A month later...)

She vigorously wiped at the tears that continued to fall from her cheeks, as she sat there on the bench under the blinding street light. Her mind was blank, yet her heart was heavy with sorrow and betrayal. How could he do this to her? What had she done to deserve this? Her date just abandoning her for another girl...

She already had not seen Don in months, and even though he had distracted her thoughts for only a second, she still found the craving for her cog companion to just come back to her...and make things right again.

"Laffy.." her half-lidded eyes widened as she had looked up from the damp stains on her bright red dress, as she had looked up. That voice...it sounded...

"...Laffy..." came the voice again, as this time the voice was near, accompanied by a warm grasp to her shoulder. Her grip on her sash grew tight, as her sore throat stung. One more single tear managed to escape from her eye as she slowly turned her head, to only be met with that handsome face she had longed to see once more. Green eyes met blue, staring at each other for what seemed like eternity. "Laffy...please do not cry..." he reached over with his other hand to cup her cheek in his cold metallic hand, she subconsciously leaning into his tender touch as her lips parted slightly to say something. "I'm here now..."

"Don..." she whispered, as she found herself leaning in as did he, lips practically a centimeter apart...

"Laffy...Laffy..." Laffy jolted upwards out of her dream, her face scrunched up in a rather displeased manner, her eyes slightly red from lack of sleep along with a puddle of drool on the desk.Β

"Huh...?" her eyes averted upwards to behold the one who interrupted her rather interesting dream: Jacob Megahopper, a blue rabbit who was particularly popular with the girls in town. If one was to describe Jacob Megahopper, one would say that he had a face carved by angels and a body that was just perfect.

Even Laffy had to admit on having a crush on him for the longest. Just recently had the blue toon thought of even speaking to the likes of her, which was odd. He usually chose to speak to no one besides Master Fireball Toppenwoof; his best friend. While a good majority of girls all over Toontown would swoon over his devilishly good looks, Laffy suddenly took misinterest in him ever since Don had stepped into her life. She guessed that is what caught his attention, since having the very ground that you walk on worshipped by a ton of fangirls can be exhausting. Nevertheless, Laffy was appreciative of him finally taking interest in her, as it did help take her mind off of Don a good bunch.

"Reading another book?" Jacob smirked, as Laffy blushed in embarrassment, tucking the book under her folded arms, trying to hide it.

"Uh..."

"Its no big deal. I dig books too." he had pulled up a chair across from her and took a seat, smirking charmingly at him. "Just seems like this one had knocked you out. I was trying to wake you up for about two minutes now. What's it about?" Laffy's face turned redder, as she shook her head, waving her hand as a dismissal to the topic.

"I-Its nothing. Nothing important at least...what brings you into the library? Trying to hide from all your fangirls again?" Laffy giggled, as Jacob chuckled.

"Maybe. Not really. I was actually looking for you." Jacob's playful smile then dropped into a thin line, a serious expression gracing his young features. "I wanted to ask you something..."

"Oh, and that is?" Laffy questioned, closing the book and pushing it aside, Jacob glancing at it, however, not really noticing the title or the cover before turning back to Laffy, a slight pink tint on his cheeks as he spoke.

"Uh...so um...there's this uh....party...going on.....tonight..." Jacob started, as Laffy nodded, lacing her fingers together and placing her hands over her mouth, staring at the blue rabbit toon intensely. She had a clue what he was about to ask her.

"Yes?" she dragged out, as Jacob swallowed the lump in his throat and finally asked.

"I was wondering if you...wanted to go...y'know...with me?" Jacob Megahopper questioned, squinting his eyes shut as he waited for rejection from the pink rabbit toon. Laffy quirked an eyebrow at such expression before chuckling, shaking her head.

"Sure. Why not. All my friends have been talking about going and they have dates, so..."

"Great!" Jacob had jumped up from his seat and walked over, giving Laffy a quick peck on the cheek before looking at her with a charming smirk. "Pick you up at eight?"

"Uh...yeah..." Laffy's cheeks were on fire (not literally), as she gently touched the spot where Jacob Megahopper's lips had connected. He smiled at her once more, before turning around and leaving, leaving the pink rabbit to sit in complete silence, a nagging feeling at her chest. She could not put a finger on just what it was she was feeling but...it was definitely not a good feeling. Not the one she had wanted.

(Later...)

"He kissed you on the cheek! Guh!" Taffy gasped dramatically, as she heard her friend's excited giggles on the other line.

"I know! It was totally unexpected!" said Laffy, as Taffy smirked.Β

"Well, I'm glad you got yo date, chica. Now you won't have to be feelin' like no third wheel while me, Mousey, and Quinn got ours." said Taffy, just feeling her best friend smile on the other line.

"Yep. Well, I might as well go get ready! I'll see ya tonight!"

"'Aight fam. Love you. See ya later-" just when Laffy had hung up on the other line, a boisterous, cacophony yell had came from downstairs, earning an eye roll from the orange dog.

"Taffy Jigglehoppin! Come down here now, girl!!!" came her mother's shout.

The orange toon obeyed and dragged herself out of bed and swung her door open, stomping down the hallway and downstairs towards the living room to peer into the connected kitchen, where all her family sat. They were waiting on her to come join them for dinner. Taffy rolled her eyes and stomped over, placing her hands on her rather large hips.

"What, mother?" she spat, obviously not in the mood for whatever her family had to say about her attire. She was already dressed in a blue form-hugging dress that stopped an inch above her knee, with black open-toe pumps, complimentary black and matching blue jewelry, also not to mention she had curled hair for tonight's party in Toontown Central's playground.

"And where the hell do you think you goin', dressed like that?" her father growled, hawking and spitting in the trashcan that sat next to him, the three three year old triplets Ricky, Ticky, and Dicky cringing in response, making disgusted noises.

"Ya didn't hear, Daddy? Dhere's a party goin' on in TTC's playground." her older sister, Queen Zee Slappinbumper spoke up in her New Jersey accent, crossing her arms as she glared at her sister, smirking. "I guess I'll be seein' ya there, lil sis."

"What'chyoo doin' here, Zee? I dhought you moved in with yo hubby." said Taffy, crossing her arms and smirking. Zee rolled her eyes.

"'Nother dispute. Its whatevah." Zee shrugged before she stood up from the table and grabbed her small red purse that matched her sparkly thigh-high dress that had a red top, a white band around the waist, and a black bottom. "Need a ride?----"

"Oh no 'yall aren't! You two ain't goin' nowhere! Not until I see deez plates empty!" their mother, Miss Daisy Jigglehoppin snapped, causing both girls to pause, looking back at their parents. Zee rolled her eyes and huffed, placing her hand on her hip, the other clutching her small bag.

"Awe come on, Ma! Its just one night without dinner! Don't be gettin' ya grannie-pannies in a twist." said Zee, as Taffy snickered. Their father, Sir Max Jigglehoppin, had stood up from his chair, glaring murderously at his two rebel daughters.

"Lemme catch yall two talkin' to yall mother like dat again! I'll beat you both!----"

"Like you got room to talk, fat man!" Taffy barked, causing the three triplets at the table to start barking with howls of laughter, as even the fifth to oldest, Astroid Jigglehoppin, had looked up from his game, a look of amusement on his features.

"Lil guh, what'chyoo say ta me?" he questioned in a rather sinister tone, his dark eyes glaring at Taffy with mutual hatred.

"Now yall stop it!" Miss Daisy then looked towards Taffy, a harsh scornful expression on her face. "Ya bettah stop talkin' to ya Daddy like that, or I'll beat you down. Just because ya sixteen don't mean nothin'.."

"Oh shut it you old hag. Da hell wit'chyoo and yo low down husband. I'm outta here." Taffy turned and followed Zee out the door, ignoring the constant shouts of both her parents, as they closed the front door behind them and hurried towards Zee's car, Zee hopping in the driver's seat along with Taffy hopping in the passenger seat.

"Dang, Taffy! Did ya have to be that rough with Mama and Daddy?" Zee questioned, as she pressed the key into the ignition and started the vibrant red jeep, it letting out a roar as it came to life. Zee checked to see if there was anything coming in front or behind her before pulling off onto the street and driving down the road. Meanwhile, Taffy scoffed, rolling her eyes.

"I try and defend dat woman, since she obviously can't stick up fah ha'self. And den, she got da nerve to bark at me? Man, forget dat tramp. Its hah fault she married a man like dat." Taffy ranted, before placing her elbow on the side of the car and placing her chin within the palm of her hand, watching the passing cars and bodies that were on their way to the same destination tonight, her wind blowing in the air.

Zee frowned at this, as she glanced at her sister before glancing back at the road, letting out a sigh.

"I know its hard, lil sis. But ya still gotta somewhat respect ya people, y'know. Ya nevah know what you got until its gone, or when ya need 'em da most. Besides, if it wasn't fah them, we wouldn't be here," Zee glanced over at her younger sister who was glaring at her, offering the orange dog a soft smile. "Now would we?"

A long silence had followed for about a minute, before Taffy finally spoke up, catching her sister off guard.

"...Yeah...I guess you right..." Taffy mumbled, Zee smiling.

"Dat's my girl. And if ya evah need me, ya know I'm a phone call away. I got you, fam." Zee grinned over at her sister, which Taffy had returned gleefully.

"Yeah, you right." Taffy smiled, forever greatful to be spending quality sister time in ages.
